I really would have liked to know how Reed reacted to the ocean and Galen's "big fin". But overall I really enjoyed it

3.75 stars

This book felt unnecessary plot-wise. While I enjoyed these characters throughout the trilogy and enjoyed seeing more of them, I don't think a full length book was necessary. The second book ended smoothly and that plot arc was wrapped up, so it just seemed really odd to raise brand new issues in the third book of a trilogy.
However, isolated from the first two books in the trilogy, I thought this book was well paced, interesting, and introduced some really fun new characters. I just think it might've served better as a short story or not at all.

I think that if there had to be a third book, this is the way it should be done. The slight deviance of the Reed - Emma storyline was a bit of a long tangent, but otherwise, I thought it tied up the unsettled feeling Emma has being a half-breed locked between the love of two worlds. Although my love for the first two was a little let down by this third novel.

Not bad, not fantastic. It didn't seem to fit, some of the details didn't make sense. But the story was more exciting than the previous two books. I wanted to read this series for a long time.

Really enjoyed this book however it was my least favourite of the series. After finishing the second book, i was confused about there being a third book. I didn't know if I wanted a third book since book 2 was very wrapped up. After finishing this one, I wanted a 4th book 😂. The ending was sweet and exactly what I wanted for an ending to this series (but like I said before, I'd read a fourth book if Anna banks ever decided to write one.) the thing that made me a little disappointed is we didn't get to see Galen and Emma together that much. We mainly met a bunch of new characters in this book who I wasn't too crazy about. I didn't like Reed at all. I missed the characters who I loved from the first two books but I was glad when they showed up towards the end of the book. In the end, I gave this book the same rating as the other two. Here is my rating for my favourite to least favourite book in the series.

2. Of  Poseidon
3. Of Neptune
For the series as a whole, I would give it 4/5.

I'm giving this 3 1/2 stars. This was probably my favorite out of the series and have to say I really liked the ending. I would mark the MP3 version I listened to a 1 star because parts of the book were MISSING! Ugh! It was especially annoying because there was one crucial part where a character is rescued and that part is completely missing! So beware of the Blackstone MP3 audio version!

The story itself was really good. A new potential love interest named Reed is introduced who really makes Emma think about her choice to "marry" Galen. I thought out of all three books, the story was most compelling in this one. Kudos to this author for not having overly sensual scenes in the book and no swearing that I remember in the book. Fun YA series that comes to a great conclusion!

This book was so good!!!! I loved this series so much and I am glad that I chose to pick it up. This was a great ending to a great series!!! Congratulations Anna Banks, you are amazing!!

Ohmysweetgoodness, this series wrapped up well! I have to admit to being concerned many, many time but the ending was just what I wanted! I wish I could say more but I really don't want to spoil it for anyone!

I do have to say that I was beginning to dislike the over use of "whatever-point-seconds." It was used one too many times for me in the book and I couldn't help but pick up on it when it was used. There are phrases from other books that grate on my nerves worse than that, but this was getting close. I kept getting frustrated when it was used. The "whatever" part of it changed, but I felt that it was put in there because an adjective couldn't be found to replace the irritation that Emma was feeling. That being said, at least Banks kept to the character that was Emma.

**While I don't go into detail, be forewarned that what I'm about to say eludes to the goings on in the book and it may or may not spoil. So read on at your own risk!**

I was really annoyed and slightly concerned with the addition of Reed and what it meant for Galen and Emma's relationship. There were moments where I thought that all hell was gonna break lose in the love department, and for a second it did, but then everyone reached their senses. I do like how tactfully everything was done. I do like that Banks explored all feelings on all three sides (not in the romantic sense but in the thoughts and actions of the characters).

At the beginning of the book I was annoyed at how quickly Galen started questioning his relationship with Emma. I get that things happened in his life that made him go into himself and worry about human frailty, but it seemed a little overboard/sudden. I don't know, maybe I'm heartless or something (or at least I might be coming across that way, because I do get it, truly I do)...ach, I think what I'm trying to say is that I wish his feelings were explained early on instead of a little later. I started to feel bad that I was calling him a jerk in my head and here he was going through some tough stuff! (Man, I'm talking like this is a real guy...I swear in real life I'm nice and caring!).

Anyway, a great way to wrap up the series. I can't say that I was sad that it ended, I would definitely read more if Banks ever decides to write more, but I think everything tied up into a nice, neat, little bow.

This series has me interested in reading more mermaid books, which I guess is cool considering they are a tough subject for me to imagine when I'm not singing along to "Under the Sea" while watching the Little Mermaid. If you haven't ventured into this series, give it a shot!
