Why is there a love triangle? I could not handle the melodrama and extra chaos that was created just so there could be a third book.

A whole lot of random stuff.

There's a third book but the second one ended off so nicely. Not that I'm complaining I say bring it on of Neptune what secrets do you hold are you going to break my heart?

Short Review: I'm 100% i barfed at this ending. Gross. No thank you. Pass. Do not read this unless you want barely there plots with a barf worthy ending. Sorry but i hate romance, i really do, call me bitter but damn, get over your self please. And the worst part, the love interest weren't really even together in this book and i still wanted to bang my head against any available wall. And for being a mermaid book, there wasn't ANY MERMAIDS IN THIS ONE! Just half breeds living on land, BORINGGGGGG. Pass.

Fun story: I was reading this at lunch and one of my friends took one look at the cover and said:
"That looks like a cheesy romance story." I glanced at the cover (man, it does) and said, "Oh, it is. Just with mermaids." She replied with, "Fine, a cheesy mermaid romance story." I laughed and kept reading.
But c'mon, it is kinda a cheesy romance. With slightly more political interests.
(Shout-out to Molly, who isn't actually on Goodreads, but still)

This was a reread for me and I remembered hating this book the first time I read it. I was pleasantly surprised when I reread it. I didn't hate it. That being said it seemed like it was separate from the other two books. It read like more of a companion novel then a sequel. I don't think this book needed to exist. I think it could have been a duology and it would have been great. I do like this book I just think it could have been so much better.

4.5

Love this story except that Emma gets on my nerves in this book.

A nice ending but some more explenation would've been nice.

3.5 stars I read and heard so many bad reviews that in the end I was surprised by it. I was expecting worse, and I ended up enjoying it a lot.

I really loved the Syrena world, and I really enjoyed getting to know the town of Neptune and its inhabitants. I found the river water life very interesting and compelling. More than I thought I would. And I loved the last half of the book when everyone was together again, Toraf, Reyna, Emma, Galen, Grom, Emma's mom and grandpa! They were super fun and a good team in the end.

In the end I really enjoyed Reed. He was funny and a good friend. What I didn't like was that he was completely into Emma after only some mere hours of meeting her. He knew she was with Galen but he flirted and made his move, why?!
And this was my biggest problem with this book. The love triangle. Why do this in the last book? It was completely avoidable. And it ruined our chance to have more moments between Galen and Emma.

Now two other small things that annoyed me. First in the end when one character was in danger and they had to leave him behind and they seemed to forget about him. Instead of asking for help or running, no. They sat and made a plan. Like they had all the time in the world. Unbelievable. The other thing is when the author writes things like this ohmysweetgoodness with no spaces between words. It's probably stupid, but it's a pet peeve of mine. It annoys the thehelloutofme.

After all, I had fun with this book. But I think this could have been the second book, and we could have had a book with a sense of more finality than this. The matters they had to deal with in this book were too complicated for only one book as small as this one.

Btw, Really loved the epilogue!
