Notice how the series gets progressively worse and worse.
why do i enjoy torturing myself so
This book was absolutely unnecessary and annoying af.
That's all I've got.

I thought this was a good book! Although I do not think this book was absolutely necessary and lacked the adventurous rush that came with the first two books, it tied up the loose ends quite nicely so the future seemed quite optimistic for the Syrena, humans and half-breeds.

Of Neptune
By: Anna Banks
Rating: 4/5 ⭐️
Emma, who is half human and half Syrena, and her Syrena love, Galen, need time together. Alone. Away from the kingdoms of Poseidon and Triton. Emma’s grandfather, the Poseidon king, suggests the two visit a small town called Neptune.
Neptune is home to both Syrena and Half-Breeds alike. But Emma and Galen didn’t sign up to be peacemakers between the ocean-living Syrena and the land-dwelling, freshwater counterparts. They didn’t bargain for meeting a charming Half-Breed named Reed, who can barely disguise his feelings for Emma. And they especially didn’t expect to find themselves in the middle of a power struggle that threatens not only their love, but their ocean kingdoms.
This was the 3rd book of the Syrena series. This book was wrapped up everything from the second book in a prefect bow. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves sweet and innocent ya romance. In the whole series you get POV of Galen one chapter then Emma’s the next chapter. Seriously if you’re looking for a quick read and fast paced this series will be right up your ally.

It’s not that a sequel to round out the Syrena Legacy into a trilogy wasn’t welcomed. I loved most of the characters involved and wanted to see how their lives progressed! It’s just that this sequel to the series was fairly unnecessary because it doesn’t really cover any of those bases. Anna Banks introduces a new element to the story and unfortunately, said new element becomes the story.
After nearly being killed in the battle of the Syrena clans, Emma and Galen are finally headed away from it all to get some peace and quiet. That is, until Emma’s grandfather insists they visit a very specific location without giving much of an explanation. Once they’re deep in the Smoky Mountains, they discover a small town with a big secret. Neptune is just barely on the map, but its inhabitants like it that way. They’re all part-Syrena families in hiding, after all. It seems there’s a whole society of half-breeds who are eager to meet Emma, hoping that her royal bloodline will help convince the old-school Syrena to allow them back into the sea. But the half-breeds hold some deep grudges against the Triton and it isn’t too long until conflicting ideologies in the small town mean that Emma and Galen are in way over their heads.
While intriguing (albeit a bit predictable), the story gave me separation anxiety. Emma and Galen are separated from each other, their family, and their friends very often in this novel. There’s barely any Rayna or Toraf, the two characters I probably love the most in the series, nor do we see much of anyone else from the previous books.
Neptune does have a new cast of characters, but none of them are as good as the original group. The most pervasive new character is Reed, a half-breed townie who’s immediately taken with Emma in a very insta-love fashion that makes several parts of the story feel very uncomfortable. He also becomes the only person she trusts in Neptune, naturally. He’s not a bad person and genuinely wants to help, but knowing that Emma is essentially engaged, he comes off as sleazy in his behavior toward her. There were so many points in the novel in which I just wanted him to go away. His character and the maybe half-assed love triangle element introduced with him are a big part of the lower rating.
There’s also a lapse in logic with certain characters that gets frustrating. For instance, everyone knows this one guy in town is crazy, but when something bad happens, nooooobody suspects the crazy guy might be involved. Because that would only make sense. I’m trying to be intentionally vague, but you get the point. It’s that kinda town.
While it was still a good ride and the ending was really sweet, there was too much disconnect from the first two books and too many plot holes to make this novel anything better than 3 stars.

I don't understand why this book was even made. I'm pretty sure Of Triton wrapped up this below average series quite nicely. So already this book is completely pointless. And there's nothing worse than series that go on, let me tell you. *cough Pretty Little Liars cough* Add that to the fact that there's instalove and a love triangle and you really have one god awful mess of a book.

This as a disappointment.
The entire story was a bit stupid and completely unnessessary for the completion of the series. It didn't bring anything to the story or finish the series of in any way that the second book didn't already.
I also felt like Emma was very different and stupid in this book and that the entire "we are after royals/ posidons " thing has been hammered to death in this series up until this point so we don't need a complete book abou the topic.
So sadly this as not good for me, but I still love and recommend the first book and the second one wasn't bad as well, but maybe skip this one?

i am not ready for this to be over and there were waaaaaay too less emmaxgalen scenes. THEY ONLY HAD LIKE 6 SCENES TOGETHER I MEAN COME ON ITS THE LAST BOOK YOU HAVE TO GIVE ME SOMETHING MORE
i hated reed. i may would have liked him if he would have kept his hands off emma. she comes in this city with a BOYFRIEND and he is totally hitting on her even tho mentioned boyfriend stands right next to her like no thanks.
i really liked neptune and how it was interweaved with that what happened in of triton in the ocean kingdoms. i am not ready to let this book go. there are too many book series ending atm and i can not handle it

This idea had so much potential and I feel this book failed to deliver. The plot and pace of this book was weird and overall I didn't like it that much :(
I feel so let down by this. [b:Of Poseidon|12425532|Of Poseidon (The Syrena Legacy, #1)|Anna Banks|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327879889s/12425532.jpg|17375535] and [b:Of Triton|15513156|Of Triton (The Syrena Legacy, #2)|Anna Banks|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1355733528s/15513156.jpg|21169646] were so good and I was quite looking forward to reading the conclusion to the trilogy. But I'm so disappointed.
Of Neptune didn't take the path I thought it would. The story was jumpy and it felt somewhat fragmented to me - not to mention the abrupt ending, even if it was sort of explained in the epilogue. The main problem was the amount of plot holes this book threw up for me. Like, when Tyrden is torturing Galen, he pours salt water on him which apparently irritates his wounds, and he can't drink it? But he lives in salt water how the hell does that work? And how does Emma talk underwater if she can't breathe underwater?
I'm just disappointed. That is all.

I felt that the story had a neat little end with the second book. Though I did enjoy Reed's character quite a lot it is safe to say that the third book is not really necessary to be content with the Syrena Series.
Of Neptune can stand on its on, like an extra story. So if you want to have an extra story with the Syrena world then read the book in its entirety. If you don't then just read the epilogue and you should be satisfied.
