Emma learns from her grandfather (the Poseidon King), Antonis that there is another area where Half-Breeds (part human, part Syrena) folks live along with other Syrena and humans. Not giving all the details to Galen, they start off in hopes of having time together to process the events that happen in Of Poseidon. Filled with action, challenges, more political detente and drama, the events will test Emma and Galen, and whether a Half Breed and a Syrena Royal truly can be happy together.
This went in a different direction than expected, but even with that I cannot say I was unsatisfied with the complete wrap up. I felt the middle section dragged, with the two alternating storylines of Emma and Reed and then Galen's and what happens to him (do not want to say because of spoilers). I was not overly fond of Reed, I felt he lacked a maturity for being the same age range as Emma and Galen. One of the things I really appreciated and this could be me, is how history and stories are different depending on who's perspective you are learning it from, which is highly relevant given the way the world is now. Overall, this was a satisfying conclusion to The Syrena Legacy, with most of the questions I had wrapped up.

Disappointment. That is what I feel right now. I hate to say it, but it is the truth.
After reading the other two books, I was extremely excited and I thought that this book was going to blow my socks off. I'm going to tell you why it didn't.
Banks was roped into the stupid cliche called a love triangle. In some series, love triangles fit and lets be honest, a love triangle can sometimes make things more interesting. However, in 'Of Neptune' it was just ridiculous. Banks spent way to much time on the love triangle when you know what the outcome is going to be. I hated it and it was the main reason why I was disappointed.
Another thing was the Galen and Emma went through the stupid phase where they doubted each other emotions. Are you seriously kidding me? Haven't they expressed their love for each other enough times?
The last thing that I'm going to hate on was the fact that the 'pull' that was mentioned through out this series didn't play a big part in this book. It was mentioned in passing and I wish that the characters had made more of a deal out of it. Otherwise, what is the point of mentioning it?
Now, after I completely had a hatefest there (sorry about that), what did I like?
The fact that we learned more about the half-breeds and what goes on with them. I liked that there was a difference in between the salt water vs the fresh water guys. That was pretty cool.
The rest of the plot that wasn't the ridiculous love triangle. There was adventure and I loved the idea of the communities of half-breeds that were pretty much pushed to the side. It was a great way to show how the ocean-dwellers ways aren't cutting it anymore. Like every species on Earth, they must adapt to survive.
The ending was really nice. It was almost enough to make up for the disappointment that appeared in the rest of it.
The series as a whole was really good. "Of Neptune" as a single was a let down. I have to say that I still have burning questions in the back of my mind as I speak (write?) this. Oh, well. That just means that I get to create my own extended ending!

A perfect ending to the series! I have to admit, I was pretty frustrated throughout the book, but it was so much more than that. It was interesting, there was always happening something that would make me want to yell and scream and cry, and there were some really freaking surprising plot-twists that even I didn't see coming. Suspicious people proved okay.
I really hated Reed, though. It's not that he's a bad character, it's just that I ship Emma and Galen so much, amd Reed kind of stood in the way of that.
And that ending! Ohmysweetgoodness, that ending. I have waited for that moment since I started reading Of Poseidon. And it was so much better than I'd imagined. It was perfect! I'm sad to have finished it now. There are no more books to look forward to. I will miss these characters so much.

I was skipping whole sections of Of Neptune, taking no interest because even if I could just read one paragraph of each page I could still follow the story.

Meh. Not very impressed by the story. Nice humor as usual, but rather mediocre plot.

I didn't think this book fit as well with the other two books in the series, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. The ending was adorable and wrapped everything up really nicely. It was an excellent use of an epilogue, and it left me feeling a lot less frustrated than I usually feel when I finish trilogies. Overall, I loved the entire story of this trilogy and am so glad that I took the time to marathon-read it back-to-back-to-back!! I highly recommend it!
I love books that you can just escape into...that's what this final book of the series was for me. I needed an escape from real life situations and turned to my book. I was able to get away via the Syrena and Emma and the new adventures that she and Galen and others ended up embarking upon.
In this volume, Galen wants to take Emma away for awhile before college and grudgingly gets permission from Grom to do so. Prior to getting this permission, however, Emma is approached and guided on a kind of scavenger hunt and takes Galen along for the ride. What they find will shock and amaze you and I won't be the one to spoil that! After that, it's all adventure and mystery and excitement and you won't want to put the book down!
Once the drama and excitement and main section of the book is over, we get an Epilogue that perfectly wraps up the series so we're not left scratching our heads and wondering when we'll get another book. A very lovely ending to a very riveting series featuring my favorite of all paranormal creatures. Pick up the series if you enjoy YA Paranormal Romance and especially mermaids/sea creatures.

This story was just as edge of your seat thrilling as the last two. Yet, it was somehow expected and abundantly obvious that it would end with a mating ceremony. would have been nice for the two of them to realize that they are too young to make any such commitment to each other.
Alas, one cannot have everything, it's always one of three: great plot, fast read, great writing. the thing is, you can only have two...

I'm a little disappointed with the ending... I think that the trilogy could have been a dualogy because nothin that really important happened in this one... It was still still nice but you couldn't really see the point of it :/
