I liked the premise of this book and really wish it had been better, the writing was good, it was a good read, but- The main character (and one of the main secondary characters) is awful. In short- unprofessional, self absorbed, irresponsible, immature, mean. I kept thinking there’d be some big turning point where she realizes what an asshole she is and changes, but no. Body shaming, complete lack of personal responsibility, no empathy or concern for anyone else (including her supposed best friend and love interest) but all we hear is how strong she is, how caring. Where??

Welp, I have officially read all of Freida’s books, to date. This one is not a thriller but still a quick/easy read. Focus is on residents working at a Labor/Delivery Unit within a hospital. So, there is definitely some awful patient cases in the story so be aware. But a fun story that I enjoyed read!

Just what I needed after reading an incredibly tense and dark book.

My dislike for the MC almost ruined the whole book for me. She was judgemental and downright mean. The ending was adorable and happy, which almost makes up for the MC.

Wow, this book was a fav. It could be because of the stage of life I’m in; after all, I’m 6 weeks from my due date myself, but I felt like this book was the perfect mix of stressed-out medical drama and romance. The romance actually surprised me. I don’t usually find myself drawn into a romance, but with this one, I found myself rooting for the two love interests to come together the whole time. The way Frieda described Eric made him sound actually appealing? Like, a lot of books will focus on looks or money, but she honed in on the little ways Eric went out of his way to take care of and protect Emily, the main character, kinda made me fall in love with him as a character.

I’m giving this one 5 stars for now. Do I actually think it is a 5 star books in terms of the writing or the plot? No, I do not. But I enjoyed it a 5-stars amount, and I found myself sad when it was over. I wanted to keep following Emily and Eric into the sunset and watch their relationship continue to grow over the years. But I guess all books must come to an end.
