Buffy learns to fly, which is quite cool. Twilight kidnaps Giles, which is not.

The main problem I have with the Buffy season 8 graphic novels/comic books is that there are too many characters with too little time to get to know them. That is a consequence of the whole 'army of Slayers' thing, but it does make it hard to get invested in the 'new' characters.

Mmmm OK, I'm going along with it, let's see where it ends.
Angel was my favorite show honestly, I don't understand this Angel, but try to think of this as a separate thing from the TV Show, it is the only way

I had a hard time getting into the story but I do appreciate the continuation of the characters and their personalities. Because this story picked up right when the series ended (and I have no idea when I watched that last episode) it was a little uneven for me. But it was nice to get back into the Buffyverse.

This is supposed to be the key trade in season 8 of Buffy. But I must confess a lot of it just went over my head. I have no idea why certain people acted the way they do. I still fail to see how this ties everything that happened before up in a logical way. And the very long Buffy and Angel sex scene felt like fan fiction.

What I did enjoy were the numerous comic and tv show references all throughout the book.
there is one more trade after this, which I already bought, so I will read it. But I have doubts about getting the trades for season 9.

I read this one in one sitting, literally, and I absolutely loved it! This is one of my favorites in the comics series so far. I am team "Bangel," as many of my friends and fellow fans know, so I was very happy to see Angel make an appearance. Also, I thought the Twilight satire was hilarious! I must admit that I loved that series at the beginning, but grew to gradually hate it more as it went on. Breaking Dawn = Blah! And Buffy is so right when she says her vampire story is oh ever so much better! But anyway, again, even more amazing artwork, and I hope Georges Jeanty is at Dragoncon yet again this year, so I can get him to sign more comics. He always impresses me, and I enjoy hearing his thoughts about the Buffyverse. I'm growing to love it more and more as I go on, and yes, I'm aware that I am a mid-thirties fangirl and proud of it. Stay tuned for more Buffy reviews! These comics are making their way into my creative fanfiction work and, hopefully, into my academic work too. I can't wait to see where all of this goes. I just wished I had watched Buffy during high school and college when it was first a thing because I think I needed these characters in my life at that point.
