'The Other Side of Disappearing' is the true crime romance you didn't realize you needed to add to your TBR. This story is full of unexpected friendships, trauma healing, and road trip sleuthing. Clayborn's writing continually fills you with hope when each of the characters fears and uncertainties are laid wide open.

There was little focus on the interesting premise and more focus on the somewhat half baked romance. Just not my thing.

This book was awful. It was so one dimensional. None of the characters were likable, nor could I figure out why I needed to care about them. The story was meh. There was no character development. Totally flat read. Not worth wasting your time.

I received a free galley in exchange for my honest review.

I’m not exactly sure what I was expecting, but I didn’t expect such a heavy romance plot given the description of the book. I was hoping more for untangling a mystery so I had to quickly adjust my expectations halfway through.
Overall a good book, but I would have loved to get more insight into Jess and Tegan’s relationship and their dynamic. I was curious to see if it shifted during their search for their mom but never really got that question answered.

Thank you to NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was a sweet, if a bit imbalanced, romance. The combination of the romance with the overall plot of the podcast journey was an interesting combination. I felt a little bit of whiplash at time bopping back and forth from the emotions of the romance to the emotions of the relationship between Jess and Tegan to the emotions of the search for Jess and Tegan's mom. It was maybe a little overstuffed.

I liked the dynamic between Jess and Adam, other than the "love (or at least infatuation) at first sight" on Adam's side, but that's more of a personal preference.

With all of the different plot elements, there wasn't a ton of time to focus on/develop the side characters, but I sure did like Salem and wish I had gotten to read more about her.

Overall, a little much, but still sweet. 3/5.
