Rose is so precious, yet so lost and broken and Dax is grumpy and broody! But they are so perfect together.
Elle keeps upping her game with every book boyfriend. Dax is so hotttt!!! Even if personality wise, he does run hot and cold with Rose, but he does care about her safety. He is so protective and possessive about Rose. There is a moment that literally screams “touch her and d!e” and it is so freaking swoon-worthy and hot!! I truly believe that Dax would do anything for his precious Sunbeam.
Once the tension between them snapped, the spice was on…! And On it truly was! The spice, wow! Elle writes some filthy hot spice! It is so freaking hot! And add in Dax being pierced….! It. Was. So. Hot!!! It was burning hot!! Especially with the hand necklaces and the mirror scenes!
For two lost souls, they truly helped each other and with so many beautiful moments in the shower just washing each other was so beautifully crafted. It was so heart melting even if it was a small gesture or moment.
To compensate for all the saccharine sweetness, there was a dark undercurrent within the story. The danger and a *certain male main character* being an idiot, it was nail biting until it was all revealed. I truly had to remember that with all of Elle’s books there is a happy ending as love always wins, but there were moments of doubt.
The ending was the sweetest and made up for the heartbreak. I never though Elle could top Reed, but she managed it!!!

I don‘t know why, but i got bored at about 40% and couldn’t get back into it.
DNF at 45%. Was trying hard to get into it but once the part about her best friend was added, I was done. Just took me out of it.
Also, at the beginning, she sounds like she's on the way to becoming an alcoholic. And her family thinks it would be a good idea to not only send her to England, but to a distillery?! I know us Irish are well known for our drinking but jfc the Brits aren't that far behind... just didn't work for me at all.
