Love every novella Kayla writes but this one was sweet, funny, full of steamy deliciousness (as always!) and characters you rooted for. Nice quick read to put a smile on your face

I devoured this smexy time read in one sitting. It's a short, easy read. Great palette cleanser.

Even though it is a short read, I enjoyed that the author still provided enough conflict to keep me hooked. The forbidden relationship between Alex & Elijah is not only too hot to handle, but also just dang adorable.

Alexandra is a curvy goddess who escapes her everyday life to relax at her dad's lake house. She plans to cook her favorite foods, enjoy the lake, and relax half naked.

Elijah is a divorcee workaholic with a boss & bestie who forces him to take time off. Bestie offers up his lake house. As hesitant as he is to go, this workaholic decides to take time for himself & write his novel.

When these two meet - at the lake house - it's awkward but also exciting. The author writes the instant attraction really well. You can feel the organic appeal between the two, it doesnt feel forced. For a shorter story, the author did not disappoint when it comes to building the heat & growing the relationship.
The little "let's play house" game was so friggin cute but like hot too. The brèêding kïnk  was also done really well.

I liked that, as a larger woman, the fmc didn't put herself down during the story. The fact that she was larger wasn't a focus. It was a detail. Her size was written about in a  worshiping way during the smex scenes, but not really much else. It was refreshing to have a curvy feature, not be written like a personality train.

Super well written.
Highly recommend

I don’t really feel like I’m super feminist, but damn. What in the 1950s housewife was some of that internal monologue with these two? He likes her because he wants to fuck her, she cooks well, and he can knock her up and she’d be happy about it? This is mentioned multiple times. I cannot.

Also, she smells like roses? I have found “smells like roses” and “her rose scent” are becoming a massive pet peeve of mine. Is it irrational? Perhaps. But I still hate it.

Furthermore, the insta-love in this one? 🤮

For such a short book, this one packs a LOT of punch! And by punch I mean heat. 🥵 Maybe I’m a little biased because the FMC’s name is Alex, but I really did relate so much to this character! Alex is entering her bad b!tch era, but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t fall hard and fast for the silver fox that’s crashing her relaxing weekend on the lake.

Elijah is an overly serious, hardworking VP at Alex’s dad’s company. He knows he shouldn’t feel this way for his boss’s daughter (who is 15 years his junior), but he also can’t deny there’s a spark between them.

Elijah Astor has a filthy mouth and a good heart, and I instantly adored his character. If you’re looking for a hot summer quick read, download this book NOW!!
