Good storyline for a mystery, but I could’ve done without the sex scenes, book would’ve been just an good without them!

Wonderful romantic suspense. Has a lot of meat to the story here and some interesting twists that I did not see coming.

3.5 stars. This was standard SB fare. Not my favorite of hers, not my least favorite. Both the male and female protagonists left something to be desired for me. Plus a small plot hole or two and this one was just meh for me.

The backstory at the beginning was necessary, but I still had to keep reading to get through it. After that it was an enjoyable read. The twist at the end was amazing enough to cause me to exclaim out loud.

I think it was Sandra Brown's Envy that hooked me totally. Deadline is another one of her outstanding work. I never even tried to guess where and how this story is gonna go coz I know no matter how hard I try, she always manages to come up with ace. So again an impressive story-telling by Sandra Brown with a rocking chemistry between the lead characters and of course the children definitely adds to the drama. Twists and turns were well paced and being the admirable writer she is, the big reveal shouldn't have surprised me but still did.

I have been reading Sandra Brown books for as long as I can remember and still rank [b:Envy|76179|Envy|Sandra Brown|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1263146546s/76179.jpg|82614] as one of my favourites of all time. In recent years however they haven't been very good, and I made a decision to stop reading Sandra Brown novels.
I found 'Deadline' in the library and after a very deep internal debate, I picked it up, sold on the one fac that I wasn't paying.

I am so very glad that I did because it really was an on the edge of your seat novel. It was so slow to start that I thought I was going to hate it, but it was like a saucepan - it was simmering slowly, and then some bubbles started to erupt, a few breaks in the gentle surface, and then it really began to boil and bubble and then suddenly there is such a twist that BAM! And did they stop here? By gawd no! They just kept coming like shots at the Golden Branch Shoot out! BAM! BAM! BAAAAAMMMMM!

Totally awesome.

I have already recommended it to two people!

It's officially summer...I've read Sandra Brown...I like that her protagonists are complex characters with strengths and weaknesses. I like that there are some topical issues in the stories. I don't expect the issues to be resolved, but I appreciate that attention has been brought. For this book, it's PTSD, and the hardships of those who serve in combat or who witness...

The bad guy...ugh. Almost unbelievable because he is so thoroughly evil. I want to believe there are NOT people in the world like this.

The twist was a piece of information that the hero keeps until the end...
