The entire meal wasn't fussy, but it did bring with it colour and warmth to not only the banquet hall, but to the hearts and minds of the survivors, a momentary respite and comfort from the darkness that had swept up onto their stories.
- Finlay Ashowan -

Son of a mage, Iade it to the end of book three and am already a bit nostalgic that it ended. I'm so grateful for this beautiful, comforting and magical series. The feelings it lightened in me and the characters I was introduced to. The magic system and the incredible humour! There is definitely now more fullfillness in my heart! I'm in love with Finlay Ashowan as the main character and so proud of his character development and growth since book one. Also his relationship with Annika turned out perfectly!! I love how every character was not forgotten in the end and got a fitting end.

I was debating about giving it 4.5 or 5 stars, because I liked the previous books more, but it still hit me deeply and the storytelling was amazing as ever. It is another 5 star book!! The final battle was tense and fascinating and very well written. The on going jokes make me laugh out loud every time and five seconds later there are tears in my eyes. Also politics had a bigger part in this books. I'm freaking speechless!!

It is also the perfect book series for fall and everyone who starts with fantasy!! I love it really really much, if you couldn't tell :)

I laughed, I cried, I held my breath. What a fitting conclusion to the trilogy.
