This book made me CRY jesus christ. Another brilliant book.
I have enjoyed this series infinitely. The silly little band of kitchen staff, Fin and Annika, the King and his relationship with the Queen and his kids. KRAKEN oh dear god I love Kraken. All of it is wonderful.
I sobbed when Fin's mom died. I loved her and the captain as a couple, I loved the story on finding love later in life. I was heartbroken for both her and Fin when she died, but she stayed so true to her character. I felt like I really knew her because she's such a relateable and down to earth character.
I loved Kraken saving the day, I absolutely adore the relationship he has with the king. You can tell the author is a cat owner because despite being a magical cat that can talk, he really still is very much a cat.
All of it is wonderful, and I'll re-read this series again and again forever.

Great group of characters that you really cared for. The last epilogue was a little weak, so that’s the reason for the 0.25 deduction.
Absolutely amazing! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy fantasy with fantastic characters. I’m so glad we are getting sequels about the next generation.

Just like the other two, I gobbled this one down. Love the characters and the intertwined relationships, and Kracken just gets better and better!
Sad there aren't more ready to go at this point because of how much I've loved them, however; the author stated on Reddit she plans to have this be a 10 book series, with Princess of Potential coming out in a week! (June 27, 2023) so I'm looking forward to all the next installments in Fin's life!
