The dollhouse. Blond haired, blue eyed, human dolls. Children. Gathered for the amusement of the man who uses them for his macabre photo shoots and keeps them stored away in his basement dollhouse the rest of the time. Playing evil games that torment them. Somehow the dolls have to find a way out because they know they only have themselves.
⚠️ pretty much every TW you could think of was mentioned in this book. Please be cautious before reading.
This was honestly one of the most disturbing books I have ever read. I had nightmares after reading this. Yet, I couldn't stop reading this.
Don't get me wrong, the plot was sickening and the things that happened in this book were just downright horrifying. The writing, however, was excellent and the story was put together very well.
The twists in this story were just SO GOOD. They had me biting my nails and sweating, honestly! I just could not put this book down once a specific plot point was revealed.
I most certainly would not recommend this book to just anyone; if you're faint of heart, stay far away from this one. If you are in a good place mentally, and are not as much of a scaredy cat as I am, this is A VERY good book that I'd recommend.
Now, excuse me while I go watch puppy videos to brighten my mood after this extremely dark and disturbing read.

HOLY FREAKING MOLY . This book was so damn good in a dark, disturbing, messed up, spectacular kind of way! This book is like the definition of anxiety. While reading it I was definitely going through sweaty palms, high heart rate, inability to sit still and general feelings of being on-edge. Phew!
I want to say this book was unputdownable, but nope, definitely had to put it down for breaks. It was SO intense!
The writing style has most definitely wowed me, to take such a dark story and write it so beautifully and well organized takes some true talent!
I’m truly speechless over this one. What a masterpiece of a psychological thriller/horror. I think it might take a few days for me to recover from this one - but no time to recover quite yet cause here I go diving into the second book of the series … lord help me.

This book is told in 3rd person from the POV of several characters such as Angel, Jennifer, Peter and Edward. It takes place between August 2006 and September 2007. This book was a wiiiiild fucking ride!!! It is definitely not for the faint hearted. I don’t want to give away too much but Sara Ennis absolutely killed it with this book. I didn’t see the twist coming at all 🤯 it was absolutely amazing and mind blowing. I’m sooo curious to see where book 2 will take us 😍
I’m not even sure if I can say this on here, but HOLY CRAP!!! I’m so blown away by what I just read. I literally had to reread what I had just read a handful of times to make sure I wasn’t just conjuring up something. THIS WAS AN AMAZING THRILLER!! It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, it’s dark, it gets uncomfortable, it makes you want to cry and scream, but just wow.
Thank you Book Sirens and Sara Ennis for the opportunity to read this brilliantly twisty but epic novel for an honest review! I can’t wait to read the sequel

I’m finally done with that ordeal!
From the synopsis, I was expecting some exciting story that made it impossible to put down but I got the opposite.
To beginning with, the characters are flat and uninteresting. I wanted to slap a few of them for being so lacklustre and boring. One exception came towards the end to save the day.
As for the plot itself, it was predictable and not as breathtaking as I expected from the synopsis. It finally came around to well off with money schizophrenic man who wants to remodel the past to what he believed it should have been. Quite honestly, I’m glad to have gotten a review copy of the book because if I’d bought it, I might have asked to return it and get a refund.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I expected to based on reviews I read. While it was definitely fucked up, pardon my French, it was well written. I loved the short chapters and I most definitely did not expect the plot twist or ending! There were some weird jumps in timeline though that didn't really add up at some points!

The premise of The Dollhouse sounded really good, and the cover caught my attention. I really wanted to like it, but it was just okay. Some things didn't quite seem believable, and some things just didn't add up. There were several errors pertaining to the timeline and locations that distracted from the reading experience because I kept going back to previous chapters to check what I had read. Errors are expected in an uncorrected proof, but I feel that these errors should've been caught and fixed in early edits. The twist was hinted at, but the final reveal was still executed well.
Overall, it was an okay book that I would've rated higher if the plot was a little smoother. I will recommend the book to others if it goes through more thorough edits. I was not prepared for some of the content so my recommendations will come with several warnings.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
