I was expecting this to blow me away because I've read/watched so many awesome reviews on it but for me whilst I still enjoyed it...it fell a little flat.

This was a super cute easy read. The concept was different and I love the idea of reading this as a teen who didn’t quiet follow what was popular. Sometimes the plot felt a little cumbersome with some slower points, but otherwise I really enjoyed it!!

David Levithan is one of my favourite people to walk this planet, pure genius.

Restoring my faith in the power of the written word to convey our feelings so inadequately and yet completely adequately and the belief that "meet-cute"s come in different packages...like, say, a red notebook.

Not my cup of tea, but a super cute love story!

Such a cute book and a perfect read for the holiday season!

There wasn't very much of a set plot. The center of the story is the red notebook. Lily leaves the notebook in her favorite bookstore for someone to find and follow the clues/dares she wrote inside. Dash is the lucky guy that finds it and they pass the notebook back and forth leaving clues, dares, and very deep thoughts written inside. Since both of them are alone for the holidays they kind of keep each other entertained with the notebook. They get into trouble, they have to do embarrassing things, and step out of their comfort zones to complete the tasks.

Dash and Lily are two teenagers in New York City and they are both very witty, intelligent, and a bit weird. They are also very different, Lily loves Christmas and Dash hates the holiday season. Lily is kind of stuck in the mind set of a little girl and is babied by her whole family. The reason she found herself in so much trouble is probably because she was a bit immature and naive. Dash is described as being snarly and he is very wordy. Honestly he uses words no one understands, kind of made me feel stupid (I had to look up a lot of the words!)

The main message of the story is whether or not there is "the one" for everyone and if fate is real or do we make our own fate. They have their own image of Lily and Dash being perfect in their own heads and are afraid of ruining the image with the real Lily and Dash.

It got a bit slow in the middle after Lily loses her boot. (Which BTW that was hilarious guys! haha)
Definitely recommend this book to everyone :)

This kid is so pretentious even Augustus Waters would get a nose bleed reading this. Lily on the other hand is written as a six year old not sixteen. Rediculous. Awful.
