I'm a huge Karin Slaughter fan, and I have read most of her books over the years, so I was really excited to read this book! Here we have book 2 in the Andrea Oliver series, of which book 1 is called Pieces of Her. Pieces of Her is now a big, popular netflix show, which I have watched and really enjoyed. So, I was very happy to get stuck into book 2 to find out what happens next in Andrea's life.

In this book, Andrea has trained to become a United States Marshall, and her first job is to protect a judge who has been receiving death threats. The judge's daughter was raped years ago, and then while she was pregnant due to the rape, she was murdered. But who murdered her, and why is her Mum now receiving death threats?

We have two storylines going on throughout the book. One is set in the present time, with Andrea, her Mum Laura, her Dad Gordon, her on/off boyfriend Mike, Bible and Cussy (two new amazing characters who Andrea works closely with); and the other is set in the past, in 1982, where Emily, the daughter of the judge, is going through her earlier life as a teenager. Both storylines are fantastic, and really interesting. I was excited to keep reading, to find out who the murderer was. I had worked out who it was before the big reveal at the end, but I hadn't worked out who did the other thing that happened.

My favourite characters were Emily, Andrea, Mike, Bible and Gordon. All of the characters in the book are interesting, and they all have their good and bad points, which are fascinating to read about. This is a really fantastic book, which I thoroughly enjoyed, as it had so much suspense, family drama, high school drama, mystery, romance, twists, turns, shocks and everything you could ever need from a thriller/mystery/police story. I just loved it so much, and I can't wait for Girl, Forgotten to come out on netflix, and for Karin's next book, which I have heard is going to be about Will and Sara - yay!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
