Me when I was living in Spain. I can’t believe how observant Hemingway is, because somehow as a woman in 2025 I feel seen by a man writing in the 1920s. He lingers and wanders just like his characters. Sometimes the mundane is beautiful and sometimes it’s really just mundane. I was ready to give it 3.5 stars until that ending made me hold my breath.
