Another book with so much potential that just flopped.

okay this one has been way better than the thrillers I have been reading. It kept me intrigued and I was on the edge of my seat a lot of the book. The only downside I didn’t like was one of the characters had been a part of the entire book until the end and then just fell off the face of the earth with barely anything mentioned. kubica led up to this character maybe being involved or having a bigger part than they did. I wanted more from that aspect.

Nope, nope, nope, not for me! If you want to read a book about horrible people where nothing really happens for the majority of the book. then this one is for you. I could not stand any of the characters in this book, with the exception of Nina, who I felt so bad for.

At the beginning of the book, Nina’s husband Jake goes missing, and her friend Lily knows what happened to him. We then spend the entire book waiting for the truth to come out and for Nina to find out what happened. The one positive about this book is that it’s incredibly readable, and you want to turn the page. However, the despicable characters, boring plot, and the reveal could not save this book for me. I do not think I will be reading anything else by this author.

3.5 stars

I read this book really fast, which makes me think I liked it more than I did. Looking back, I thought Ryan’s character was pointless and the writing got repetitive. I liked that two of the main characters were teachers though. That felt relatable.

The burn was a little too slow for me with this one… It had its suspenseful moments, and definitely kept me guessing!
