I liked this one even better than the first. Still, too much drooling and staring at butts XD I get secondhand embarrassment from the way that she writes about people being physically attracted to each other XD

I loved this book

I do so love a good witchy romcom and a grumpy sunshine trope. I do still think Vi and Linc are my favorite couple in this series, but we'll see after book 3

This was fun and smutty. I don't know that it's particularly memorable, but I had a good time reading it.

April Asher's second book in the Supernatural Singles follows Rose Maxwell, a witch, as she searches for what she wants to do with her life. Following a series of mishaps such as a one night stand with a grumpy half-demon, a failed animal rescue, and a friends with benefits contract, Rose slowly finds her way in life and love.

Positives: A cute fantasy romance with nice, blended world building, quick pacing, and simple writing style. Even though this is the second novel in a trilogy, readers don't need to have read the first book to be able to seamlessly slide into Rose's story.

Negatives: The pop culture references were a bit much for me, but that is entirely a personal preference.

Overall, I felt this was a good, quick read that kept me interested in the story even though you always know what is going to happen in this type of romance. Fans of romance, fantasy, a sweet cute reads will enjoy this work by April Asher.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the dARC of this work in exchange for my honest review.

Received an ARC through the goodreads giveaway and I really liked it.

I loved Damien’s grumpy nature to Rose’s sunshine and how their friendship/relationship forms. I loved their banter, but there were moments where it wasn’t needed.

I wish the epilogue was more about them and less so about setting up the next book. I feel like that was done pretty well already and would have loved a few more pages of just Damien and Rose

It was a super breezy, corny book until the utter ridiculousness took over in the last quarter...then my suspension of disbelief, my patience, and my cringe tolerance plummeted.

A lot of people seemed to love this book so it might just be me, but it took a while to get through this one! I did not feel connected to the stories or the plot as much as I thought I would be.

I read a lot of fantasy and contemporary romance, and while I love having romance in fantasy novels, having fantasy elements mixed into a contemporary romance simply did not hit the same. Like I said, this could just be a me problem of not feeling the genre, but it felt like there were both plot holes and a lack of world building.

I love how much Rose and Damian cared for the animals!! You could definitely see the mutual attraction between the two of them, and it was interesting to see their story play out. This book had spice as well, and it was written well in my opinion.

Some of the banter throughout the book was really fun too, and I absolutely loved Rose's grandma! The main conflict of the book seemed to resolve itself pretty easily, and I was left confused about the concept as a whole. Nevertheless, things worked themselves out, and I was happy enough for their ending:)
