Little witch really bugged me. So did the inner demon (although maybe not quite as much as the inner wolf from book one). And the weird writing quirks like “damn if didn’t” that the author really overused. Would be a fun change of pace if the next leading man had a good relationship with his father. Just saying, Link and Damien were a bit too similar. Overall though, I can’t help have a smile on my face for these books. Fun stories.
This story was everything I wanted it to be. The writing was very easy to follow, the characters were very enjoyable to be around and likable enough to want to continue reading.
Now that Rose Maxwell no longer has to be Prima, she is unsure of what to do with her life. Starting her coming of age story late in life comes with its hurdles. This is how Rose finds herself sentenced to do community service at the local animal sanctuary, run by the notoriously broody half demon Damian Adams…who she may have had a very unforgettable one night stand with. LET THE SHENANIGANS COMMENCE!!
I knew right off the bat that I was going to love Rose as a character. She is as feisty as she is caring and every bit our leading lady. The obstacles she has to face in order to set her new path in life m, made her extremely relatable.
I immediately picked up the first book in the series after I finished this one and her next one is already on my instant buy when it comes out. 10/10 would recommend if your looking for a quick hate to love romance with some memorable characters.

I personally enjoyed the first book more - this one was much more complicated, but also a lot more spice so I'm sure there is a large demographic that will be enamored with exactly what this book brings. I assume the next book is Friends to Lovers trope for Olive, and I can't wait.

3.5/5 rounded to 3/5
The second book in a series can often fall short of expectations, and I am absolutely thrilled to announce that there is no second book slump going on here! In fact, I think "Not Your Ex's Hexes" may be even better than "Not The Witch You Wed". While the story jumped in right where the first book left off, it was a seamless transition and I would even argue that it could be read as a standalone. I was thrilled to get to know Rose better, and see her get her HEA with a character I would argue is totally unexpected based on what little we knew about her in book 1. Rose's character growth is also excellent. Damian was a wonderful counterpoint for her, and the grumpy/sunshine vibes were IMMACULATE.
I am so excited that the end of NYEH sets up Olive's story to be next. We've been seeing OxB hints since the beginning of book 1, and I am READY for the tension to simmer over! I appreciated that the author carried those threads through book 2, it's building the anticipation so beautifully.

This book is the second book in the Supernatural Singles series. I didn’t realise that until after I started it. I decided to keep going anyway since it published this month. I would definitely recommend reading book 1 first, this one dives straight into the storyline with only the slightest back story given here and there. It was enough for me to continue, but I think it did affect my enjoyment at the beginning just a little bit.
I struggled with rating this book, because there are parts that I really enjoyed and parts that did not work for me at all. I’ll start with the negatives and get them out of the way. I can’t speak for book one, but this book is SPICY. I have no issues with that, but I know some prefer something milder or closed door, if that’s you then don’t pick this one up. Most of the spice was fine for me, but there were a couple descriptions that really made me cringe. My nephew follows me on here, and while I don’t think he actually reads my reviews, especially for a romance book, I’ll leave the worst one out. Here’s a tame example, the word ‘folds’. In my opinion ‘folds’ should only be used when one is discussing origami or Shar-Peis, not ‘lady bits’ - which was also used a few times. If you’ve been following me for a while you already know that I don’t like a lot of repetition, so after this book I have added the word ‘twitched’ to my list of words I don’t want to read again for a long time. Hypocritical I know since I tend to repeat the same words a lot in my reviews and not notice until I’ve posted. There were two or three scenes when they were in danger, and Rose’s dialogue during those moments made me feel like I was reading a YA. She mentioned Buffy the Vampire Slayer at one point and then it clicked, except Rose was supposed to be in her early 30’s… it just didn’t work for me. Lastly, I didn’t fully understand the details surrounding the hex at the end.
Onto the positives! The chemistry between Rose and Damian was great, and not just in bed, I loved how the relationship built as they worked together. Speaking of working together I so enjoyed reading about the sanctuary and their animal rescues! The supernatural element was so fun. I haven’t read anything with vampires, demons, and shifters in years. I loved Rose’s relationships with her friends and her sisters, they were so supportive of each other while calling bullsh*t where necessary. Speaking of her sisters, Olive was my favourite, and I’m hoping there will be a book 3 about her. I would absolutely read it! I recommend this to those who like sweet and super spicy romances, or if you need something to lift your spirits after a heavier read.

Like the first book in this series, this was a fun, fantasy read! April Asher should specialize in writing banter because the back and forth between her main characters is perfection. I really enjoy the supernatural world in these books and the way the different characters interact with each other. I can't wait to read Olive's story when it comes out early next year!
This book was significantly better than the first one! I loved the relationship between Rose and Damian, and how they were both significantly more up front with each other than the normal miscommunication trope. The fact that they got all of their stuff aired out at the very beginning of the book and then we could just enjoy the romance? so perfect. I LOVED Rose's relationship with the animals too, and how she used this to find herself when her original purpose was gone. Plus, I CANNOT wait for Bax and Olive's story, because you KNOW thats the next romance. Anyways, super nice and fluffy and so much better than the first one. Can't wait for book 3!

I personally haven't read much fantasy/supernatural/paranormal so when I saw the premise of this book, I thought I would give it a try. Asher's writing was very easy to follow along and I found myself forgetting that I was reading! Asher did a good job with the world building so I found I could slip into the story easily.
However, I struggled with the paranormal parts mostly because I don't read this genre very often. Also, I felt that how Damian and Rose were described seemed like older teenagers (maybe ages 17-20). They were also described as in their thirties which is right in my age bracket. This stunted parts of the book for me. I will say grab a fan because those spicy scenes were spicy!
Perfect for fans: young adult, paranormal romance, supernatural romance, fall time reading

✨ April Asher has done it again, and better than before! ✨
Not Your Exes Hexes follows the middle Maxwell triplet witch, Rose, and the oh-so-delicious repercussions of her one-night stand with the half-demon veterinarian, Damian. Asher continues to build upon the Supernatural Singles world she created in Not the Witch You Wed, and we get insight into the background of some of the characters introduced in book one. As much as I enjoyed Violet’s and Linc’s love story in the first book, I fell even harder for Rose and Damian in this one. What can I say? I’m a sucker for a bad boy turned good.
If you love the following tropes and genres, you’ll enjoy this book…
✅ Grumpy/Sunshine
✅ Good Girl/Bad Boy
✅ Bad Boy Turned Good
✅ One-Night Stand Turned More
✅ Plus-Size FMC
✅ Paranormal Romance/Rom-Com
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, highly recommend the series, and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here!
