This was an adorable, cozy read!

Fantastic illustrative style

Hilda is my new favorite discovery. With her blue hair, her jaunty beret, and her sketchbook, she sets off from the unbelievably cozy cabin she shares with her mother into a world populated by trolls and other magical creatures, both familiar and new. The artwork is full of fun details that will make young readers wish for Hilda's home, and the stories balance humor and adventure with pathos and emotional ties to family and home. Simple in some ways, but remarkably effective and sure to entertain a broad range of young readers.

Cute! A sweet story, weird enough to have a little edge, a folktale that feels contemporary. The illustrations are rich and dynamic.

Es súper bonito.

Adorable. Beautifully created. The characters are off-beat and their lives/motives are left delightfully vague. (The Wood Man, though. The Wood Man!)

I'm sorry that it took Netflix adapting the story for me to find this, but I'm glad I did. tbh I'm planning on buying every single volume out so far. I love Hilda, I love Twig, I love the Wood Man, and I want to live in Hilda's world right now. Or just, like, read more about it. For now.

There are heaps of reviews for this book, and they're almost all of them in superlatives. Well, I agree with them. Hilda is beautifully drawn and her story is delightful. I don't ordinarily read graphic novels, but this series is converting me!
