This book was an absolutely wild ride from page one and it never slowed down. I am so glad my hold came through at the library because I’ve been wanting to read this for a while. I think, for how grotesque of a book this is, it was handled with so much love and care. It touches on religious trauma, found family, and self-identity and discovery. There were so many Bible verses sprinkled throughout, which I think added so much depth and nuance to the story. Even though I am not religious, I think that aspect of the story was so intriguing. The representation in this story was also amazing! I would have loved to dive even deeper into how the world got to where it was when the story started. Also, this book was really….descriptive, so please make sure to check the CWs.

Loved this book. If you're angry and trans you should read it. If you grew up christian and been traumatized by that you should read it. If you're both of those things, by golly, what are you doing just sitting there??? Get to reading this!! 👏👏

Read in res. I liked the start of the book but after like 150 pages it started to drag. Definitely fell asleep the first time I tried to read the final act.
