Garbage. I had to force myself to finish this one for my book club and was hoping that the Egyptology info dumbs and wonky timeline jumps would be worth it but the ending was so disappointing. I did enjoy the approach that Dawn had to death and the practical advice for dealing with that reality. Won’t recommend.

The first 300 pages of this book were absolutely painful. The author was trying to mix egyptology (like doctoral-level egyptology), body-image issues, infidelity, death and life, quantum mechanics (???) all in one book. Heck of a headache.
However, the last 100 pages redeemed it for me. The way the author took us back at the beginning of the book's plot twist made this story a 3-in-1. Very ingeniously thought and not an easy thing to do.

This was not my favorite Jodi Picoult book. The story did have great characters and a satisfying twist, but it felt like it went too deep into the research and ended without resolution. The balance was lost somewhere along the way.

I gave up on this book early. The Egyptian history and writing style were not for me. I couldn’t get into it.
