This might make my top ten favorite books of all time list. Picoult’s ability to weave two parallel stories together is astounding. The book is spectacular literally the entire way through, up to the very last page. Had many wonderful conversations with others who read it, and one of my favorite parts is we all had different perceptions of what had happened and what it meant.

One of my favorite books of hers to date. Loved how instead of switching narrators, it switched between Dawn’s potential lives. I think Brian was the unsung hero and Dawn was very selfish, but there was something appealing about how imperfect and ~real~ all of the characters felt. Also loved learning about quantum physics and Egyptology!!

I just could not get into this story. There was waaaaaaaay too much detail. I could not relax into the characters or the surroundings because there was so much information and ‘teaching’ going on. I love to learn but I don’t read as a means of pursuing a masters in archaeology. Jodi Picoult does great research, I loved Mad Honey, it contained the perfect balance of learning and telling a tale. This story, The Book of Two Ways, could have taken me in two directions, one being what a great story, the other being, OMG this is way too complex and feels like homework.
Sadly, I failed the assignment!
