One of my favorites I think though there's not enough Sam who I always love.

This book is a return to form in the way that it has a paranormal romance sprinkled onto a greater paranormal plot. This book begins after Hurricane Katrina and the events of the book are directly involved with the real life aftermath. Content warning for sexual assault. My one problem with the book series is that certain plots are swept under the rug and aren’t made more of a big deal. One of these things is Sookie’s faerie lineage. When she meets another telepath, she doesn’t react like it’s a big deal until books later. These books are a guilty pleasure, even if I don’t believe in guilty pleasures. Learning more about Pam’s backstory was interesting. The Vampire Summit was interesting and the main mystery was mildly intriguing. This book has been an improvement over the last few books in the series.

I adore Sookie Stackhouse. She seemed extra funny this book, and she’s smarter than every other character gives her credit for. I enjoyed the mystery of this book, and Eric and Quinn are two parts of the first love triangle I’ve ever felt conflicted over. I LOVE show Eric and hate Bill, so all interactions with Quinn and Eric make me hold my breath. Sookie’s character development is also very interesting, especially love the fact she self-reflects when many main characters in series never do.

Another fun book, although for me, the series seemed to peak at around book 4. I enjoy the books more when they focus a little bit closer to home (Sookie's home, that is). But it was still pretty exciting.

Another good read! Fun, adventurous, and not based in reality. Perfect for summer.

Perhaps the most engaging book so far in a series of engaging books. I particularly love Sookie and Barry Bellboy playing off each other here.

This book is like Sookie got stuck in an escape room - she attends the Vampire Summit as the Queen's telepath but quickly finds that she and everyone she knows is in a VERY explosive and precarious situation.

Barry the Bellboy makes another appearance, there's more evil humans, and of course, Sookie's involved in another love triangle.

There were points throughout this book where I found myself wondering "wait….is Quinn the Rock?" Did Charlaine Harris write a fanfiction about The Rock in the midst of throwing Sookie into danger?
