I started reading this garbage in January. It's the end of October. I'm in a reading slump and can only pick up books I have no interest in. idk, maybe it's because there are no stakes, no disappointment. Anyway. I highlighted so much and am going to reference and think about several of the concepts (and always be angry I got them in the form I'm using them from this utter crap) but the final conclusions in this book are contradictory and asinine.

4.5⭐️ I found the psychology/philosophy within this book really enlightening, and came to appreciate the dialogue styled writing. It opened my mind to the definition and “process” of happiness, and how we create excuses to hold ourselves back from leading our lives with courage and achieving happiness we know we can achieve.

I just really don't like the setup of just having two people talk back and forth. I would have liked to be more traditional self-help. But that's on me not on the writer

Sorting through my feelings. I feel immediately defensive at “trauma isn’t real”, but I can understand in the black and white of philosophy the angle it’s coming at. I really appreciated the dialogue format. Some of the messages felt resonant in a way of describing a feeling I’ve had. I still just have weird feelings about philosophy anyway (I need nuance) but it got me thinking in a really engaging way.

I listened to this book (library) and will now be purchasing it as a re-read and shareable book. The title of this book means so much more than what it might appear at face value. Highly recommend. I'm now going to be looking further into Adlerian Psychology to better understand this philosophical psychology in practice.

“let’s dance in earnest the moments of the here and now”

Lots of amazing lessons in here for people who struggle to be present, have all or nothing thinking patterns and give other people’s thoughts of us too much power. Step into the conversation if any of those things resonate - a world of relief awaits.

Some parts are really good but the youth asks good questions which i feel like the philosopher wasnt able to address - atleast for me.
