Hmm. A difficult book to review. The chapters about past experiences not defining one's future and the being disliked equals freedom were profound. However l could not agree that words of affirmation should be discouraged and that life only has meaning if one gives meaning. 3.5 stars.

Worst book I’ve read all year! I had high hopes and was looking forward to an alternative point of view, but this book fell completely flat. Nothing groundbreaking and Adler sounds like he was an insufferable mansplainer.

Something about this book gave me the ick right away. Judging by the reviews and my lack of interest i am dnf’ing this one
