Charly Cox is an absolute fucking revelation. I've never been interested in poetry really, but the raw and honest way she speaks about body image and the struggles of being a teen/young women growing up in an age with social media and toxic societal standards had me nearly in tears.
I initially heard about her through a podcast, and sadly let the book languish on my TBR shelf for months. It's such a small but powerful book. And since she recently announced her second volume of poetry will be coming out in October, I'm going to pre-order it ASAP!

not awful, not amazing in my opinion. i love poetry but older poetry, not so much modern ones JSHCJDHF. these are still good though!! if you’re looking for poems about modern issues e.g body image, sex and consent, etc, this is the book for you!!

i think i would understand, connect to and therefore appreciate this book more if i read it in my twenties or thirties, not right now, when i’m sixteen and still quite inexperienced in life. i’ve had my first kiss, first crushes, ive struggled with mental health and body image to some point but that would be all. i think it would be better if i could reflect on my experiences while reading instead of imagining how they might go in the future. but yeah, its kind of my fault that i decided to read it right now. the poetry is definitely good and (obviously) beautifully written. loved it, wish i could relate to it a bit more but that’s on me.
Moderate: Body shaming, Fatphobia, Mental illness, Sexism, and Misogyny

Was really looking forward to this, but in the end I found it was not my kind of thing - I think a lot more could have been said in a lot less words.
