4/5 stars
mild spice
-Enemies to lovers to enemies to friends
- pirate adventure
- slow pace
- confusing ship jargon
- pirate battles and treasure hunt
- sexy MMC

The Pirate Queen Vice is back, this time, recovering from seriously diminished fae powers and health after her betrayal and capture at the hands of her one-time lover, Knigh Blackwood. What a freaking JUICY betrayal that was, too. Vice attempts to find her place among her found family, again, dealing with emotional turmoil that spills into each relationship and action she takes, before she's captured and forced to reconcile with how she feels about her pirate hunter turned lover, turned enemy.

I enjoyed the book, but it did go slowly for me, as there was so much of Vice finding herself and facing emotions she hasn't before. I understand and appreciate her arc, I just really didn't get enough Knigh and Vice time which made it drag a bit.

Clare Sager deserves more recognition.

Everything was so well done and written. Clare has managed to keep me at the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. This was packed with action, love, friendship, betrayal, forgiveness, cunning manipulation and mystical adventure.

The ending went like:
Vee: Friends.
Knigh: Friends.
Me: FRIENDS ???????

Yall wanna tell me that I've spent 455 pages crying and in constant pain FOR THEM TO BE JUST FRIENDS.

I'm jumping straight to book 3.

I lost interest. The emotional immaturity of both of the main characters was getting tiresome, and I didn't want to waste time forcing myself to finish a book just for the sake of finishing it.
