This poignant and consuming tale of forbidden/second chance romance will hold you captive from beginning to end. Grayson Cole was Drew Harris' brother’s best friend. He was her all of her firsts, and she would wait for him when he joined the military with her brother. Now years later, they are both changed. Drew is a therapist and taking care of her sick father, and Gray has trauma and guilt, and doesn't believe he is deserving of her. He tries to stay away, but soon is unable to deny the the magnetic pull between them. As they become close again, the love they once shared grows even stronger, and their chemistry is even more combustible! But Grayson is fighting his guilt and is afraid to share it with Drew, for fear he will lose her for good. I love Gray and Drew together, and cheered hard for their HEA! Their emotional and heartfelt story of love and loss, loyalty and deception, happiness and heartache is breathtaking. Truths are revealed, and the struggles to heal and grow stronger are hard fought.
I loved the narration by Lance Greenfield and Kirsten Leigh! Greenfield's voice is perfect for Grayson with the right balance of commanding yet gentle, and a protective quality that shines in his portrayal. Leigh does a great job creating the brave and caring qualities needed for Drew. I love this team, they gel so well together, as they bring these characters and story to life beautifully.

What a heartache!, I love this story so much, but the emotional rollercoaster got to me in the best way. Gray and Drew had an amazing story, strong love and connection, but they struggled to find themselves again. The angst was everything in this story.

I love second chance romance!!
I really enjoyed Grayson & Drew's story. I feel like these characters were so layered and while there was a lot of deeper conversations being had and real issues that they were going through, I feel like it was well-balanced. I liked how real they were as a couple and how much they worked for each other. Instead of giving up, they continued to support and work through it.
Their stories weren't easy - especially Grayson - but the love that Drew had for him was everything! I loved that she was so supportive of him without being pushy. She allowed him to figure some things out without being too overbearing. She was so sweet and understanding, and while she did want to help people around her, she never forced that help in to anyone.
Grayson was amazing! Through it all, he knew he wanted Grayson but also knew that he had a lot of work to do on himself too. Drew was the best, but I do wish we got a little more time with her because I know she went through a lot with grieving as well.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one and I do want to read the next book where we follow Drew's bestie - Ruby!!

This story was beautifully written. I was engaged throughout the story and i absolutely enjoyed it. I loved Drew. She’s the female main character. The way she handle situations was phenomenal. The story over all was amazing. I absolutely recommend reading or listening to. Lance Greenfield and Kirsten Leigh did a fantastic job narrating this story.

Kirsten Leigh and Lance Greenfield’s incredible voices brought this heartbreaking tale to life. Grayson and Drew’s brother’s best friend and first love story pulled at my heartstrings and had me rooting for their happily ever after. The family drama and wrong side of the track vibes were heavy throughout. I love a small town romance with great chemistry, meddling townsfolk and a bit of angst. It was an enjoyable listen.
This was such a beautiful, emotional love story that gives all the feels. On paper, Gray and Drew were completely different; he was being raised by his uncle who’s a mechanic and she by her wealthy dad. But they were more alike than expected. They both lost their mothers at a very young age and Drew never looked at Gray like he was below her. In fact, she only had love in her eyes. Gray tried to stay away but just couldn’t. They were secretly seeing each other but he still felt like he wasn’t good enough for her. She never thought this.
As time passes you see how their relationship develops and all the ups and downs. The tragic stuff that these two experienced is beyond sad but they were there for each other. Your heart will go out to both but especially to Gray. These two loved hard and you will not be reading this one dry eyed. I enjoyed that this book was about them and not focused on any crazy exes.
This wasn’t your typical little sister with older brother best friend. Yes there were moments when Drew older brother brought got overprotective but that didn’t stop her. Such a beautiful, beautiful love story.

This was such an emotional story.
I love the bond and chemistry between Drew & Grey. I absolutely love how Drew is there for Grey and loved him through the rough times.
They both have gone through some trauma and I really like how they work through it.
This was full of friendship, frustration, loss, grief, hope, love, and forgiveness.
