Inspirational story about one family's efforts to help those in need during WWII. I only hope I would have as much courage in the face of such danger. I admire the faith of the author and her family.

Wow what a retelling of a specific perspective during this point in history. I did appreciate the reminders that although the situations were horrible, they still had God with them.
Corrie ten Boom, a watchmaker, lives in Haarlem with her father and sister. Devout Christians, they open their home to shelter persecuted Jews during the occupation of the Netherlands in the Second World War.
I've heard of Corrie ten Boom and her family before, so it was certainly interesting to read about her experience in her own words. I admired her upright principals and her desire to help people less fortunate than herself, which stems from her faith. However, I thought the writing was a little simplistic and sugar-coated, perhaps because of the short length of the book.

Inspirational story of how she survived the holocaust. It was kind of slow reading the first few chapters. She had a vision of her and her family being taken away since she was a kid. It was encouraging to hear her sister’s attitude of forgiveness towards prison guards. They both found ways to use Jesus as their Hiding Place. Hiding Bible to read later helped them with that. It was later revealed after Corrie was discharged it was a clerical error and people her age died in a gas chamber a week later
i went into this completely tired of Corrie ten Boom's story. i'd seen the film, the animated version, heard an "impersonator" give a presentation
nothing is like the book, it's fantastic, inspiring and actually page-turning

This book was utterly life changing for me. I think everyone should read this book. Such an incredible story and witness to God in her life. I think it’s so important to hear about individuals’ experiences of WWll. I love the way she shared her life and faith with those around her whilst being a servant of God, the ways in which she prayed even when it felt impossible and perhaps when God felt absent. I found it incredibly powerful how she they opened their home up to people in need. This is her story. This was her experience. All by the power, love and grace of God.
This was a wonderful book! Well written and full of great inspiring quotes. It might not be as enjoyable to someone who wasn't Christian, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
