Astonishing. Inspiring. Heavy.

What an absolutely incredible woman who survived the terrors of World War II with such ferocious faith. Brought me to tears. Loved it.

A historical NON-fiction read that I had to continuously remind myself is a TRUE story! Corrie’s story is beautiful and heartbreaking and encouraging and awe inspiring all at the same time. Her story takes place during WWII in Holland and Germany. Corrie & her family are strong Christians who truly live their lives to share the goodness of God. I kid you not at one point Corrie’s sister, Betsie, thanks God for fleas! And then, God in His mercy reveals to them the goodness that came from the flea situation. There are so many moments when I had to stop, remind myself that it’s a true story, and give God glory for how He worked in and through the lives of the ten Boom family.

Not a Christian and a little weary about reading a book from a Christian author who speaks very openly about her faith?

My challenge would be to give it a shot! I think you’d love the story and it’s barely over 200 pages so it doesn’t even take long to read if it ends up not being your cup of tea. Though, regardless of your religion, I think we can all learn from & appreciate a true story from this tragic part of our world’s history.

Corrie Ten Boom tells the incredible story of her families clock shop and how they saved hundreds of people during WWII. She is so wise and teaches so many valuable lessons.

It's on the verge of 4 stars. I can't say much about the book because I don't know how to. I'm sorry, but the first half of the book was DEAD. AWFUL A little harsh? I'm just telling it how it is. Now the second half... Miraculous. All throughout the book, Corrie and her sister's faith in God is just mind-blowing! This is just one example of how strong God's love is for us and how strong our faith for Him can be. The book has its sad times, but with those, there are also happy ones. I would recommend the second half, but I honestly will try to NEVER read this book again. Sorry.

I read this for school and I liked it, but it is very long and hard to get through. Probably wouldn’t have read it if it wasn’t assigned.
