4.4 AVERAGE

Just as moving as the first time I read it over a decade ago! The love the Ten Boom family shared is inspiring.

Yes, it was that good! Yes, it deserves 5 stars. I must always remember to stand for what I believe in no matter how difficult. And in all things recognize the Lords' hand, even if it involves fleas.

Very inspirational. I would have given it a 5-star rating if it had been written by Corrie herself, but at times it's just too obvious that this wasn't written by a Dutch person. The bombing of Rotterdam is never mentioned in the events leading to the capitulation... And they do make a point of explicitly mentioning how Corrie is getting everywhere by bike.
On the other hand, the very 'American' way of storytelling does shed new light on the for my familiar story. It was a very enjoyable read and I'd recommend it to everyone who is looking for an uplifting yet very serious book.

Always and forever the best book ever written.

i kept waiting for this book to get obnoxious, but it manages to be inspirational without being schmlatzy or simplistic. Corrie Ten Boom really was an amazing woman.

What an incredible woman

So,so good! Beautiful life and story that tells a picture of God's presence and light being bright in the darkest place. Bravery. Love. Persistence. Forgiveness. Struggle. Loved it!

This book transformed my childhood. Taught me about suffering and gave me a heart to serve those in need. Also a fascination with secret doors :)
