Considering this book is called "The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb", I would have expected it to be predominantly about an ancient curse and evil resurrected mummies. Unfortunately that's not really the case. Still decently entertaining though.

Welp, another goosebumps in the bag. How was this one? well, better than some of the previous ones.

This one is about a kid going to Egypt and hanging out with his uncle and cousin and checking out a creepy pyramid.

The story is all right, but of course it has a lot of the typical goosebump tropes of "fake out" scares that lead pretty far into the book. The biggest issue I have with this one is that the actual mummies are a very small part of the story and only show up for about 5 pages. If you're hoping for a mummy walking around and doing evil things, you're not going to get that in this book. It's a lot of walking around and the kids checking out the pyramid.

There's a villain in this book which is decidedly NOT a mummy and it kinda lessens the story for me. i was hoping for mummy attack action, but didn't really get that. Still though the main characters weren't that bad and the story itself wasn't nearly as painful as say "the beast from the east".

There's apparently a sequel to this one and i'd definitely give it a read to see where they go from here.

i'm giving this one a 3.5 out of 5 rounded down to a 3. wish i could have given it a 4, but with so little actual mummies, i can't in good conscience do that. 3.5 out of 5 rounded down to a 3.

My son is starting to get into Goosebumps, so I stole this one from him and read it for nostalgia’s sake. I forgot how fun they are.

Didn’t like this one. Main character was really annoying and stupid, in my opinion, making it already impossible for me to enjoy this story, and then somehow everyone else was even worse. What parents don’t pack water in Egypt when they know they’ll be out for a while and also leave their child alone immediately? The cousin has the absolutely worst humor, and the uncle is horrible as well and also so occupied with stuff that he just … forgets about the kids? Like … just like that? Giving them a lecture about having to be careful and then doesn’t notice when one of the kids is yelling to get his attention?
The last 30 or so pages I found alright, but everything else was just too much. And if I had liked any of the characters, I think I could have overlooked some scenes that I thought made no sense and were just bad, but since I didn’t like the characters, everything else felt also way worse than it needed to feel. I wish there would have at least been a little more logic in how the characters behaved, but like this it just felt like a lot of coincidences and neglect.
