"We just want to be a normal country with normal problems" one Israeli said during the first intifada. Or maybe it was during the second intifada, or during one of the many attacks or counterattacks that occurred in this small, tough, beautiful country.

In this set of three intertwined novellas, three narrators tell stories that might occur in a "normal" country: tales of suspicion and mistrust, hopes raised and dashed, complications revealed and judgments rescinded.

I can't give you more details without spoiling the stories. Go read the book!

The start was a bit bumpy, but the hook grew on me page after page until I absolutely loved it. The third story for me is one of the most romantic, introspective account I have read.

"Se mi chiedessero cos’è l’amore, direi: la certezza che esiste, in questo mondo bugiardo, una persona completamente onesta con te e con la quale tu sei completamente onesta, e fra voi è solo verità, anche se non sempre dichiarata."
