When I first saw the cover and then the plot description, I knew I had to read this book! And that tagline just grabbed me - marry in haste, repent at leisure. I knew I was in for an emotionally thrilling ride. I definitely was not wrong!
I really don't know what to say about this book. I kept reading but I'm not sure why. I really disliked the main characters, not because they were bad people but because nothing they said or did made sense to me.
Chloe was probably the most wishy washy person I've ever read about. Strong one minute, doing the right thing and then doing something so dumb it was unbelievable. One thing is sure, she loved Dan. It was on every. single. page!
Dan was kind of a non character, we really never know anything about him except that he has a temper and is very controlling.
The plot is good and this could have been a great book if there had been more background info on the characters and if the story had been a bit more believable.

The premise of the book was intriguing but in the end, the book just didn't live up to my expectations. I just couldn't understand why Chloe, the new wife, kept returning to her new husband despite all the red flags. I probably would have only given 2 stars but the ending was unexpected. I probably wouldn't recommend any of my friends reading the book though.

This book was so weird. So Dan propses to Chloe and the get married within weeks. He then changes their honeymoon destination and tries ot convince Chloe to stay there long term. It's all creepy. He takes her phone and hides it.
She literally finds out someone is dismantling her life and she doesn't know if its Dan or whether he is hiding from something and now its after her.
I was a little flat but I was still hooked. I wish the pace had been better, it just kind of plodded on but I had ti know what was going on so I listened to it all in one sitting.
The narrator was good and I would definitely recommend if you like a good psychological thriller

First the bad. Chloe is annoying at times. There, I said it. She's like one of those women in a Lifetime movie, that keeps doing things that are crazy even though there are SO MANY red flags.
But the good outweighs the bad, just like that Lifetime movie. I loved how creepy Dan is and how I really didn't have any idea what was going on until the end. I thought I had things figured out but I totally did not.
There's a whole backstory in this book that gives you a bigger picture, and even when you get that part you still don't know everything.
I have to say that the end did it for me. I struggled with Chloe's behavior so much but at the end of the day she came through and seemed to learn from her experiences.
This book will be an EXCELLENT summer read!

Thank you to NetGalley & Bookouture for the advanced audiobook.
The Honeymoon is a cautionary tale. How well do you really know someone? Especially when you’ve only known them for 2 months…Whirlwind romances can get you into trouble.
This was an enjoyable story but there was a slow buildup that just lead to a rushed resolution. It felt like something was missing.
Overall, it was an interesting concept but the execution left something to be desired. But try it for yourself! It’s still worth a read to see if you feel differently.
