The ending felt rushed, which sucks because this started really good.

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I wanted MORE of it. The MC felt real and complex and I loved the side characters, but some of the deeper aspects of the plot could have been explored more.

First hockey book for the fall 🏒 the best part is that it’s queer with POC characters and also add a dash of mental health issues ✨

Cherry on top is the respect Mickey has for his sisters and mother, the acknowledgment of difficulties women face in sports — because it’s considered ‘men’s space’

I got really torn up when Mickey was in the middle of a crisis with his dad, the game, his depression, and relationship with Jaysen. That scene literally made me anxious, I had to take a break and chill out 😅

Definitely recommend ✌🏽
Only reason it’s not a 5 is due to the underage sex, they could of aged up the characters ❌

That ending!!! Not telling us who got picked 🤣
Good move, because honestly I couldn’t choose. I hoping they would both get drafted!
