I actually prefer this installment to Charmed Life, although it feels sacrilegious to say so! The opening of worlds, the unfolding characters, the rise of Crestomanci’s powers and character. The perfect staple in any collection for adult or child.

I actually read this series out of order, but whatever.
I read this as the second book in the series, following the author's suggested reading order. I was a little skeptical at first about this order, because I felt like this book was fairly similar to the first. It both concerned a young boy with 9 lives with several similarities between them.
But, Christopher is different from Cat, and his story is different. I now think that this book is a good sequel to the first, because it contains characters introduced in the first book but also expands on their backstory and expands on the whole idea of multiple worlds. They were briefly touched upon in Charmed Life, but there was little travel between the worlds.
In this book, we see a lot more. It is very interesting and very well written. I absolutely loved the Goddess as a character.
This world and the stories in this series are very intriguing. I look forward to reading more.

Tan solo desmerece un poco el desenlace, pero aún así he disfrutado muchísimo de toda la novela que es divertida, original y llena de personajes geniales.

Still some fat shaming in this one, but again, an otherwise lovely book. This one kept me guessing in some ways.
