4.12 AVERAGE

I love this whole series so much and this volume was another awesome one! I think I like it more because it’s based on a true story, at the end of each one, the author even discusses which parts were real and which were pure fiction.

Very strong; I love how this series continues to evolve with each successive book. Stewart easily could have used the basic procedural template present in the first three books through many more to produce a very accessible yet somewhat bland series, but she's chosen the more interesting path of shaking up the formula to constantly surprise her readers. I appreciated getting the story here from the perspective of Fleurette, a character that I wasn't wild about at the beginning of the series but has undergone a vast amount of development to become every bit as essential as Constance, and I'd love a similar exploration of Norma in a future installment. The events of this book set up yet another exciting new chapter for the Kopp sisters, and I can't wait to read what happens next.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this title.

RATING: 4.5 STARS

I really enjoyed Miss Kopp Investigates! Miss Kopp in this case refers more to Florette, the youngest of the sisters. Returning home after the war ends, Francis has died leaving his widow, two children and another on the way. The Kopp sisters move in to help Bessie and the kids. Constance gets a job as a security guard for a store. Nora is missing France, but takes over the farm and how to make money. Florette, has lost her singing voice, movies are moving to California, and tailoring is more of luxury. She decides to take a job her sisters would not approve of, and when they find out she leave the homestead to make it on her own. She soon finds herself involved in a case. I loved the way the book ended and am looking forward to more books. Amy Stewart does a great job weaving fact and fiction, and providing you information on what is actually true.

Entertaining to hear from a different Kopp sister. Also interesting the pains folks had to take to get a divorce back in the day.

The latest Kopp Sisters books opens up a new chapter in the family's lives, as they transition back to peacetime and the unexpected death of their brother, Francis. Fleurette takes center stage, and I am very glad for that! Like her formidable sisters, she is just as determined, smart, and driven, though chafing at the restraints imposed on her by Constance and Norma after so many years living independently during the war. This is a great introduction to the post-WW2 Kopp family, and I am really looking forward to their further adventures.

The mystery that Fleurette takes on is very well done, and I could not stop reading to find out what happened. I also love how Stewart re-wrote history and gave Heath a more suitable and noble life post-sheriff than he actually found.
