Loved this book of poems, the scenes I visualized as I was reading, and the intimacy of the writing.
Some favorites include: Forsythia, Stillwater Cove, It’s the Season I Often Mistake, Power Lines, The Hurting Kind, Obedience.

Pretty good! I think I liked Sharks In The Rivers better overall, but this did have some standout poems. My favorites were “Drowning Creek”, “Foaling Season”, “When it comes down to it”, “Jar of Scorpions”, “Cyrus & The Snakes”, “It’s the Season I Often Mistake” ( me too!), “The Hurting Kind”, “The Unspoken”, “The End of Poetry”

not sure how to rate poetry books, i haven't read many of them. but this was excellent, beautiful. beautiful out of 5
This really isn't a bad collection, but, personally, I found most of the poems lacked a certain level of precision. A lot of images and ideas were ones I had encountered in more or less the form before. I did enjoy the way the collection was structured, its empathy and non-simplistic hopefulness, and its titular poem.

These poems were absolutely stunning. Limón is a brilliant poet, and her way of capturing both emotion and nature is beautiful. I'm not one for nature, but her descriptions and connections made me want to see nature the way she does.
I highlighted a number of lines and dogeared a number of poems, but some of my favorites were: "Sanctuary", "I Have Wanted Clarity in Light of My Lack of Light: After Alejandra Pizarnik", "The Hurting Kind", and "Against Nostalgia".
