“I am the hurting kind.”
Definitely a healing era book. Through personable sentiments of the author’s grief, and the way her reflection and recollection is told with an acceptance, and even nostalgia, she effectively articulates the harsh reality that we often fall in love with our own suffering. And that at the other side of healing is a calm contentment within the mundane.
Pretty word make me cry! I gave it 4 because she kept talking about horses?

Love when a poem hits me so hard I gotta put the book down. Very special when someone can accomplish that multiple times in a collection. Limón can render both grief and hope with such brutal honesty.

ada you make me feel The Most and you understand how i feel about animals more than i do
you are the reason horses make me want to cry and trees bring me to my knees, or maybe you are not the reason i feel like this but you write it down for me in a way i am still learning to do myself

Gorgeous. Also, Limón reads the audiobook herself and it was just lovely
