I wanted to stop reading this book for much of the first half, but at some point in the second half my interest was piqued and I wanted to know what happened.
Now the questions is do I read the next book when it comes out?

I loved this book so much that I read it in one night and now I have to wait another year....I just can't.... Anyway Catalina and Alessandro (who is Italian like me and I want to stress that) are a great couple without being a couple and they are funny together, a sort of Nevada and Connor but inverted. I loved to see all the other characters again even if the above mentioned are completely absent from the story, but I understand why of course.

Hidden Legacy continued
I wasn't sure what to expect from this novel. The first three in this series focused on Nevada, the oldest. Catalina was till a teenager when they took place and tended to remain in the background. We knew her magic, that she was fairly shy and reserved, but would step up when she felt it was needed. Nevada was such a strong character that it only contrasted the differences in their personalities. This is a very strong storyline within itself with a comfortable backdrop since we already know some of the players. It was fun getting to know Catalina better, as well as A less an fro. The glimpses of Linus Duncan were fantastic, too.

Occasionally this felt like a rehash of the first book but overall I really enjoyed it. As the other family members have been slowly becoming more than one dimensional characters, I've been hoping the series would branch out. I enjoyed seeing inside Catalina's head. I only wish we had a glimpse of her transformation under the tutelage of Rogan's mother, whose name I am too lazy at this moment to look up. I look forward to hearing more of the story.
Really good start to this new part of the House Baylor story. Some interesting new revelations and an intriguing plot.
Looking forward to the next one!!!

I think I read the eBook and forgot to review it.
I am a big Ilona Andrews fan. This continues Catalina's story as she becomes head of the house. It had me laughing out loud a few times with the sibling's teasing and Catalina getting a best friend. However, the ending was a bit of a downer, but I will definitely be reading the next hoping for a better outcome.

There's always a chance when a series introduces a new narrator in a follow up arc that you won't like them, but I enjoy Catalina. She's younger, and less sure of herself, but starting to come into her own. Plenty of snark, gunfights, and more of the crazy family antics.
As I expected from the start of a trilogy, there's more problems set up than solved. There's big picture set up happening alongside the smaller conflict, and exciting hints about past secrets, as well as a big reveal. I'm not quite sold on the relationship yet, but it'll have time to develop, and I have faith the writers know what they're doing.

I love hearing about Catalina's powers, and how she takes over the company from Nevada. We jump in as their 3 year grace period is expiring, and I think that's the perfect time jump.
