I LOVED THIS. Plot brought it down a star, but really my problems were not massive and the characters and emotional feeling of the book were just great.
4.5/5. With Victoria's signature prose, this earlier novel of hers is strong with romance, mystery, and fantastical elements. I'm scared to read book 2 knowing that book 3 might never come, but we'll see if I take the risk!

The first 100 pages were confusing. With the whole "back and forth" issue between characters and old memories. I really wish the Author had made some sort of distinction between a memory and regular dialogue (ie. Italics or even a line break).
I almost quit reading. Luckily a few reviewers convinced me to keep reading. The second half of the book is less confusing and the story has more action. The concept is good overall.

Intrigante y curioso.
Por momentos me olvide que leía Schwab, su estilo fue un tanto diferente, más calmado y misterioso.
Me gusta nuestra prota y ni hablar de lo extraña e interesante que es la trama; cuando mueres, tu historia no desaparece, se crea una copia de tu vida que es grabada en carne y hueso semejante cuando vivías y está duerme en una Archivo, almacenada, a menos que despierte y vague.
Tenemos a Mackencie que acaba de perder a su hermano, ella es fuerte, es portera y caza estas historias pero sigue siendo una adolescente de 16 años que se siente sola por mantener tantas cosas en secreto. Vemos su lado débil, la parte de ella que solo quiere calma pero no olvidar, y como la arrastra a errores.
Están los secundarios, Way, el chico con delineador y pelos parados. Sus padres cada uno sufriendo a su manera y recuperándose poco a poco. Y los divertidos inquilinos del departamento (aunque no conocimos a todos T-T y alguien trae muchos secretos). Un poco de la amiga incondicional Lynsey y Owen (la extraña Historia que no se desespera).
Juntos forman este curioso libro, mezclado con algo de intriga y misterio.

Schwab creates a fascinating world where the lines between life and death are blurred because of an archive of the dead and their memories, and on top of the exciting and original setting, the book boasts relatable and lovable characters, and enthralling mystery, and some truly surprising twists and turns.
