4.5/5. The Archived had one of the most original concepts I've ever read in a paranormal book. It was so refreshing! I loved how creeptastic this was I got the shivers more often than not, it was thrilling! Schwab's writing really flows and I loved Mac's voice. She's relatable, tortured, filled with pain and I loved how this ended "Everything hurts. I don't know how to make it stop. It hurts when I breathe. It hurts when I think." Wesley is also awesome. As plot goes I can't say I was surprised by the revelation, again I guessed the culprit as soon as they made an appearance (I really need to find a YA book that manages to have me clueless until the revelation) but I did like the build up to the motive among other things that were revealed - I did feel that some bits were rushed.
Overall, I loved this plain and simple and I can't wait to read The Unbound.

My first book by Schwab! I really like it, the concept was unique and I love where the story led us. The only thing is that the beginning was quite slow and lingering and I feel that overall the story was a bit stretched out.

But other than that, it's a great read.

This feels slightly like The Librarians series except it's for the dearly (and not so dearly) departed, plenty of secrets of surprises around every corner. The notion that our lives are kept somewhere as histories, that there are Librarians who catalogue the imprints of our lives is a beautiful thought. I enjoyed this book and can't wait to pick up the second book after which I'll probably be left biting my nails waiting for the third.

If you like YA, this is good YA. Very interesting concept, not traditional magic - at least that's not how it's portrayed, but yet certainly has either magical or supernatural core. Good plot, good character development. A worthy read.

Congrats to "The Archived" for making it onto my highly scrutinized and all exclusive 5 out of 5 rating shelf. This book was everything I loved and then some. I'll be doing a full review on my blog later this week, but, OH MY GOD, everyone needs to go pick this up and read it!

Such a great read! One of those amazing slow burning plots. I love the ideas explored in this story, like the ideas of memories and a persons life is made up of memories, I also love the idea that each soul has their own sound, I think that's really sweet (:

Ah, I loved this so much! The story kept me on my toes, making me want to keep turning pages. And the writing was so beautiful and detailed for a YA novel.
