love an unhinged male lead
I loved the first book in this series, and waited for this second one to drop.
It didn’t disappoint I love an unhinged male lead who loved his woman to distraction.
Can’t wait for the next book!

it was good. but i really appreciated that the author had a note at the beginning saying hey this book is just for funsies and the plot if the romance there’s not really much world building or villian or bug background plot. so i liked that i was able to go in with that expectation and the author met that.

if jamie writes it, i'm going to read it
if you need an MMC to bring justice back for blond men, roman covington is the man for you
yes, he kills people for violet. yes, he maims people for violet. and yes, he captures people for violet.
but he also:
- outlaws mayonnaise for violet because she hates it
- builds her an entire cottage fortress for violet because she was once attacked in the palace and scared of it
- has custom furniture built for violet because during the aforementioned attack in the palace she hid under furniture, and that's where she felt safe, so now they can both fit under all the furniture in their cottage fortress
- doesn't kill people for violet when she asks him to
- spends years trying to figure out how to break the mate bond to her twin sister
i'm trying to get all my friends to read this series because jamie knows how to write the BEST unhinged MMCs
ALSO HIS MOM HIS JUST AS UNHINGED AS HE IS. LETS GO QUEEN SARAH!!!

I really really really wanted to enjoy Obsessively Yours. I just read Viciously Yours and I had heard that this one was better. But oh my god, Violet made that nearly impossible. She’s the definition of a Mary Sue, she’s beautiful, desirable, and adored by every male character. But obviously she doesn’t see herself that way and believed she’s an ugly duckling or whatever.
I really hated that she has no meaningful relationships with other women. Not even one female friend. In fact, the author went out of her way to introduce side characters and then tell us how Violet and her weren’t close. That’s a big ole red flag in terms of how the character (and women in general) are portrayed in this book. She’s perfect and every other woman is sneaky and evil. We get it. She’s not like other girls.
If you’re looking for a heroine with depth, independence, or actual character development, you won’t find her here.
Roman was equally as annoying, trying to maim her friends who had the gall to try and hug her or look at her. Grow up.
Anyways. This book sucked. I won’t read the next one in the series because this one made me so angry.
