Roman. Roman. Roman.
Psychotic. Handsome. Zero Morals. Gotta love a fake man who knows what he wants and will do anything to get it and keep it.
This book was wild. JAH always says there’s no plot for her stories- but there is definitely some plot while minuscule and literally for the purpose of the relationship building.
I really think she wrote this book like, “I hate mayonnaise. What if my parter murdered everyone who liked mayonnaise so I never had to eat mayonnaise again?”
This was a crazy ride, kept reading to see what unhinged stuff the MMC would do. Will absolutely be reading the next books in the series!

I loved this book so much and I couldn't put it down and finished it in a day. I was so excited when I found out this 2nd book in the series was going to be a full length novel bc while I loved the first, I had wished it was longer because I didn't want the story to end, and this book was the perfect length, and I had so much fun reading it. My heart broke at times for what Roman and Violet were going through being star crossed lovers which I admit isn't always my favorite trope, but this was so well done! As if Roman being not only mated to Violet's sister wasn't bad enough the fact that her sister was a major jerk just took a bad situation and made it so much worse in my opinion because there was no way for Roman and Vivian to even be friends and she was so rude and dismissive to Violet that imagine watching the person you love marry someone that isn't even a nice person.
I loved how the story between Roman and Violet started off so sweet with them being friends that they tried to keep going as long as they good until Violet realized she just couldn't anymore so in response you just start to see the obsession grow in Roman and the things he did just get progressively more and more over the top and I loved it. And it wasn't just dark and unhinged over the top things but also laugh out loud ridiculous things as well with also super sweet things mixed in as well to make Violet comfortable and safe after some of the things she has been through. I did think anyone could top Rennick in the previous book, but I think Roman did and I absolutely loved it, and I can't wait to see what the author comes up for the next book.
I also loved that the unhinged behavior Roman exhibited might actually be genetic and all I can say is I want his parent's story as some kind of novella because trust me we need that story.
Violet was such a sweetheart who my heart broke for because growing up she was always being compared to her sister who just always seemed to be the one everyone chose over her and then the boy she has a crush on it told by the gods his mate is... her sister and then all the things that she went through when people assumed she was her sister because they were identical twins made me want to be as extreme as Roman to keep her safe and happy. So, when they finally get their happy ending and she starts to see the Roman has consistently been choosing her even when she didn't know it made me so happy.
These two belongs together and I loved reading their story and I broke down ugly crying when Roman said that he finally got his wish to just carry her bucket (this is poorly paraphrased) but that was just such a simple sweet thing that made me ugly cry.
Love the book, loved the plot, loved the characters and had a blast reading this and I don't know how the author is going to top this with the next book, but I am so excited to read it.
This book is about twelve yr old Roman who is the crown prince of the Tropical Fae kingdom who even at 12 is already feeling the heavy weight of the crown that sometimes he forgets he is still a kid. That is until he literally runs into Violet a smart and super funny girl who seems to be the only person to laugh and let him act like a normal kid. They become fast friends though there were the simmer embers of hope for more. But the thing is for Royal Fae at 13 the gods whisper the name of the royal's fated mate in their ear and on his birthday the name the gods whisper to him is...Vivian who is the identical twin sister to Violet. This devastates Roman who thinks the gods have made some mistake and spends all his time trying to find a way to transfer the bond from one sister to another that is slowly starts to drive him made and leads for him to do some... "questionable" things.
Now for Violet she has always felt like 2nd best when it came to her sister, but she always had her friendship with Roman to get her through it that is until the gods chose his mate for him, and it was none other than her sister. Devastating and breaking her heart and having to put on a brave face for the sake of her family. So, with a brave face she tries to keep things the same with their friendship but eventually it becomes too much, and she realizes she needs to walk away and protect herself from the hurt because the gods don't make mistakes and she can't keep pretending to not feel the soul deep love she has for her childhood friend. But little does she know is that Roman is doing everything he can to make sure he ends up with the right sister because gods be damned, he will have his violet no matter what.
I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved viciously yours so when I saw that there was another book coming out in the same world I was ecstatic. The MMC’s in these books are more than a little unhinged and I’m currently living for it!
Roman is the crowned prince who is told the name of his fated mate by the gods on his 13th birthday. The problem is the gods must have made a mistake because they say Vivian who is the identical twin sister to Violet, the girl Roman loves. As time goes on he realizes that he really can’t stand Vivian but his friendship with Violet grows.
Roman is an unhinged stalker that will do anything for Violet but there is something so compelling in these super morally dark characters who go completely feral for the women they love.
Just a note there is no relationship between the MMC and FMC’s sister.

Ugh Violet and Roman are perfect. My heart broke for her when she wasn’t announced originally and to see how dedicated (although creepy) he stayed to her. She had all his first. War and Babs were hilarious! Vic finally coming to her sense was nice cause I didn’t expect it. I fully thought she’d be miserable till the end. Titus was a butt nugget for doing what he did and Marissa deserved a worse fate. Griff, Slayton, and Ares were amazing supporting characters. I loved how they stood by her through out the years. Romans jealousy was top tier too. Can’t wait for Tragically Yours!
Huge thanks to Jamie Applegate Hunter for the ARC, I’ve been so stoked for this book to drop, and it did not disappoint.
Just as unhinged, just as smutty, and just as fun as the first. Roman was perfect, but if I’m being honest… Rennick still has my heart. That said, War absolutely stole the show. I adored him so much, and I just wish he and Violet could have a two way conversation but I guess his facial expressions say it all.
This was exactly what I needed, super fun, low-stakes, not too stressful, and just the right amount of plot to keep things moving. But honestly? I would’ve been perfectly happy just reading about Roman and Violet living their totally chaotic life.
Can’t wait for the next one!

YES!!! Obsessed with this book (pun intended)!
I couldn’t wait for this book to come out, and it did not disappoint, and what a fantastic surprise that it’s much longer than the first. I LOVE our MMC Roman 🥵. He’s so insanely obsessive and full of reg flags and it’s delicious. Our FMC Violet is the perfect sweet balance to Roman’s crazy and it just works. I loved their growing up story - my heart broke for both of them while also soaring at the bond they shared. The letters were the best, I loved those so much. Getting a peak at the other rulers in the fae kingdoms was fun too. The spice was sooo delicious and just the perfect amount. I didn’t think I could love a red flag, obsessive MMC like I loved Rennick from book one, but Roman is right up there. Although this one is not even technically released yet I will be (im)patiently waiting for the next book in the series. These books are truly so fun to read!

“One day I’ll be enough as I am, whether you think so or not.”
I’ve been waiting so long for this book after 'Viciously Yours', and JAH did not disappoint!
Even though she claims she’s not great at world-building, she creates enough atmosphere to make you fall not only for the characters but also for her writing style—or should I say, spiral into an obsession!
Violet’s character development healed something in me I didn’t even know was broken.
Already one of my top reads of 2025!

This book is everything to me!
The chemistry, then tension, the ANGST!!
The chemistry, then tension, the ANGST!!
This book is a romance book that is set in a fantasy world. It is book 2 in a series but this is a series of interconnected stand alones that can be read in any order, so you do not need to read book 1 in this series before jumping into this one (although I highly recommend Viciously Yours as well). This is a series that read more like a contemporary romance than a fantasy romance and it is perfect for readers that are looking at dipping their toes into Fantasy romance books.
Violet is a fae that just wants to live her life, spend time with her friends, hunt for seashells, and make clothes and jewelry. Roman is the prince of the tropical fae court and all he wants is Violet. Unfortunately for him, fate had other things in mind when the name of his fated mate that was whispered to him when he turned 13 wasn’t Violet, but Vivian, Violet’s twin sister.
This story is told over the course of 15 years, and I loved watching these characters relationship grow over the years. By the end of this book, I was so invested in this love story that defies fate. I am normally not the biggest fan of friends to lovers stories, but this one was done so well that I absolutely loved it.
There is more fantasy plot in this book than there was in Viciously Yours (although it is still very minimal) and I really enjoyed it because I feel like the fantasy elements really elevated this love story. This book was fast paced, and action packed. This is also a book that had a variety of characters from all walks of life that simply lived in harmony together. I also appreciated the mental health representation in this book and found Violet’s journey really relatable.
Oh, and did I forget to mention that this book is hilarious? There were multiple instances where I had to set down my kindle because I was laughing so hard I had tears coming out of my eyes and needed a minute to pull myself together.
Please go read this book. This is one of my favorite reads of the year so far and I absolutely adored it!
I did Beta read this book, but my review is based on my reread of the ARC copy I received from the author.
