This was a DNF for me. I'm not sure why, but I lost interest and found myself skimming, even after trying several times to get into it. I enjoyed the first two in this series, so I'm not sure what happened with this one. It just feels like nothing happens, and it takes forever to not happen.

I really want to do this book justice by giving it an amazing review that adequately describes exactly what it did to me as a reader and how incredible a book it is. But two days after finishing it and I still can't seem to get together one coherent thought on it. It's kind of more of me drooling over it, whilst also wanting to grab random strangers and scream at them unintelligibly about how they MUST READ THIS BOOK!!!

One of the things I love most about Rossi's books is that I can't seem to predict what's going to happen in them or what they are going to be about. Book two didn't start how I thought it would and book three did not go how I thought it would at all. She always manages to take me by surprise in the best way.

Every character in this book is so perfect that I can't fault any one of them. The main characters are everything I could possibly need, and the characters I am supposed to hate definitely bring out that reaction in me. Perry is as adorable as ever, but also tugged at my heartstrings because of how hard he found it to come to terms with his sisters death, whilst trying to hold himself together for his Tribe. Aria. I am not sure where to start with Aria in this book. I thought this showed her at her absolute best. She's strong and determined and gets stuck into the fighting and action as much as the guys do. There is also one scene where she kicks the crap out of one character that had me cheering with happiness. Go Aria, go Aria, go!

I can't really think of many secondary characters, or main character best friends that are more brilliant than Roar. Who doesn't love that guy? He's so heartbroken in this that it made me sad just to read about it. That was probably the moment I knew that I was way too emotionally invested in these characters - just the way I like it! When he first shows up at camp he is furious with Perry, he can't understand why he isn't a crying mess over Liv's death. He just wants Perry to act like he cares, but he doesn't realise that Perry just needs to hold himself together in order to take care of the tribe. This book definitely shows the struggles between characters, as their loyalties and friendships are put to the test. I have really come to love these characters, it made finishing the series very bittersweet.

The story kept me guessing the whole time, I couldn't predict what was going to happen from one page to the next. This book has a good deal of shock plot points and revelations and I was gripped the whole time I was reading it. It had me laughing at times, and other times had me on the brink of becoming a sobbing mess on public transport.

My favourite part was probably the last third of the book. I was utterly sucked into the story by then and wouldn't have put it down for anything. I was a little scared at times, but I trusted Rossi that she was going to give me a series ender to absolutely love, not one I would want to launch across the room. I can't make up my mind whether this is my favourite or not, it's got stiff competition from Under The Never Sky. It honestly is one of the best series enders I have ever read.

I feel it is only fair to mention something I disliked about a book, but I honestly can't think of anything. There was only one thing that had me crying and wishing it had turned out differently, but it wouldn't have been realistic to the story. It made sense in the story and showed just how much these characters love each other. Other than that there was only one thing that got to me, which was Perry using the expression 'He loved her - down to his soul', which I know is sweet but it still makes me cringe like crazy.

5/5 Stars

I can't fault the book in any way. Rossi provides us with one of the most perfect and phenomenal series enders that I have ever had the pleasure to read. It put me on a little bit of an emotional roller coaster and had me on the verge of tears whilst on buses but it was perfect. This may actually be my favourite book of the whole series. I am so blown away by it that I can't get my thoughts and feelings down into coherent sentences. Just trust me and read this book!

Finally done.
one of the best trilogies I have read in a while.
adventurous emotional funny hopeful mysterious tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

I really enjoyed this series from start to finish. The author does a wonderful job balancing romance, friendship, sadness, and anger. The friendship between Aria and Roar is one of my favorite things about this series. It is so well done and not a typical love triangle plot. If I want to be nit picky, it would have been nice to have a little more with Cinder. But it was such a fun adventure. Apple’s new eye set was just announced while reading this and it sounds almost identical to the Smarteye which also made this fun!

Into the Still Blue was AMAZING! The trilogy got better and better with each book and the finale was definitely the best book. It was full of adventure, conflict, hope, death, and love. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time because there was so much that needed to happen.

Aria, as part of her quest to save Talon and her shaky alliance with Soren, was able to gather the remaining people left in the crumbling Reverie. But they had to move in with the Tides, which is difficult. The Dwellers and Outsiders did NOT trust each other at all and were pretty vocal about their disgust of Aria and Perry’s relationship. Roar was a mess after the events of Through the Ever Night. Perry was stressed more than ever, and Sable definitely had Cinder, who was the secret to unlocked the Aether wall at the the entrance to the Still Blue.

I loved Into the Still Blue because it explored all of the crazy tension between the Dwellers and Outsiders and I knew the characters had to figure out a way to beat Sable, which was difficult because he always seemed to be a step ahead. It had me on the edge of me seat so many times. It was obvious that the author wasn’t afraid to kill off characters, so I think a lot of my emotions had to do with not knowing who would perish or if they wouldn’t even make it into the Still Blue. I was terrified that they’d die somehow, attack each other due to differences, or Sable would just execute them all.

My only criticism is that I wanted more from the ending. There was still so much that could have happened and I wanted to see the characters who were left figure out how to get along, how to build a civilization, and basically explore the area a bit more. I mean, how did they even know if the Still Blue was safe just because it didn’t have the aether storms? I saw so much room for more storylines so I just wish it wasn’t just a trilogy. However, so many authors tend to beat a dead horse and have endless series, so I guess part of me is happy I don’t have to wait for more books and that I can just sit and let my mind wander and think about the fate of the characters left in the Still Blue.

I highly recommend the trilogy. It was such an unexpected amazing book. I didn’t like the covers, didn’t think it would be worth my time, and basically just thought it was another forgettable YA dystopian trilogy and I am very happy that I was proven wrong. Not only did Under the Never Sky wow me, but the sequel and finale were so much better and made for a pretty amazing trilogy. Don’t let this trilogy collect dust on your shelf. It’s totally worth the read.

It wasn't a bad trilogy. I found this book repeating scenarios a lot but it was a good ending.

Under The Never Sky was one a kind.
You are always disappointed by something - sometimes it's a detail - in a book series but this one was perfect. I loved it from the beginning to the very end. It had everything you can wait for in a YA dystopian book and more. I was quite fond of all characters, even the secondary like Marron, Brooke, Soren, Reef, Liv, etc. All those amazing stories, characters, adventures. I can't proceed the end I can't accept that it has ended so quick. I must admit I took a long time to read it because I knew it will end very fast and I didn't want to.

I'm so sad and so happy at the same time. It was so great. It was amazing. I'm not objective I know but I will always defend this book. I give him five stars because I know I will read those books all over again.

In all honesty, I was disappointed. Perry and Aria became almost insufferable for me. After such a great start to the series, I was pretty disappointed with how this ended.

Wonderful ending filled with lots of action.
