Into the Still Blue is the third book in the Under the Never Sky series. While I believe the first book was the best of all of them, this one still at least has some resolution, although not for everything. It goes without saying that you'll want to read these books in order.
When we last left our heroes Outsiders and Aria's old people had teamed up, but with nefarious purposes. They want to make it to the still blue, a place where the aether storms don't rage, and they don't mind harming people to get there for the 'greater good'. Perry wants to keep his people safe too, but between the storms, upset in his group, and other groups, that's an almost impossible task. And he has to worry about Cinder, who may hold the key to everything.
Perry and Aria are still a little frustrating. We've got Aria nursing an arm for almost the whole book and then at some point it seems like she's able to do everything normally again and it's only an after thought. Perry too seems to have some magical healing properties, especially when it comes to not affecting his capabilities. The romance was a bit less in this one too, and you have an angry Roar, it's just not as engaging as the first book was because of the character personality quirks.
For plot, I still feel like there's a lot left unexplained here. The whole premise of the world and why it is they way it is is still barely explained, which is aggravating. The ending is rushed and easily done, almost too easy. And you could predict a lot of the betrayal, etc. before it happens. I don't know, while I'm glad there is some resolution, I just wish a little more time was sent to wrap up all the detail.

I'm a little disappointed in the final installment of the trilogy. I had a hard time staying focused on what was happening. Sable was a terrible character--predictable and a bit ridiculous. I liked that everything wasn't a happy ending, though, the bad guys were overcome by the end, as you would expect.
We join the Tides as they are looking for a way through the Still Blue to what they hope is safety from the Aether storms. After several run ins and nonsense plot twists with Sable and Hess, we finally get on our journey. By the end of the book, everyone loses someone dear to them and while they ultimately reach their goal, they are each left a little broken for it.
Still an ok series, but I guess I wanted more. 2 1/2 stars.

Just as good as I hoped it would be. My only complaint is that the ending happened so quickly! The pacing was not right, in my opinion. I wanted time to be nervous, to be shocked, and then to rejoice. I went from BOOKS WORTH of nervous to... oh, it happened, we're done. That was a bummer. But I would read them all again in a heartbeat!
Actually 4,5 Stars.
“We all have the potential to do terrible things. But we also have the potential to overcome our mistakes.”
It's always sad if you finish a book series that you really love. The first time I've read Under the Never Sky was two years ago and since then it's definitely one of my favorite books of all time.

This entire trilogy took me by surprise. I never in a million years thought that I was gonna love it as much as I do. It has actually become one of my favourites. I love the way the misteries and the entire plot unfolded. I love the character development. I love the characters. I love the story. I love everything about it.
This final book did not disappoint at all. I met every expectation.
I only wish there was an epilogue to know more because I just want it to go on forever and know more and more and more. That's how much I loved it.
Amazing ending to an amazing trilogy. Action packed and it makes the reader go through a whole lot of emotions.

Crazy good end of a trilogy. All action, anxiety & feels.
Does this really deserve 5 stars? Was it "amazing" ... you know I can't really say that, but I enjoyed this more than some of the 4-star books I've read, so I wanted that distinction for my own records. When I saw that this was available for download (immediate download even) I was quite excited. I hadn't been keeping up on things, so I didn't even know it was out.
I had quickly read "Brooke" ... a novella (also available at my library) and it did a good job of getting me "back" into this world. Everything flowed (unlike the last book, where our characters were separated, and the different point of views were also telling different stories. Here the POV shifted between Perry and Aria, but it was still pretty much the same story all along). Formatting ... I mentioned the left-justification in the first book bugged me ... and this book had a full justification. That doesn't impact the actual story at all, but it does impact me and my enjoyment somewhat! *Ü*
So ... not everyone survives, but it is a happy ending, I was happy with the conclusion to the series.
I also admit perhaps I'm reflecting on the series as a whole, although I did really like this book. I actually really felt the pull to go back to the first book, to remember what it was like to be introduced to Aria and Perry and this world for the first time. While I USED to enjoy re-reading books over and over, I haven't done that in years, as there is SO much new stuff out there. I didn't reread the entire first book, but enough to remember that yes, I really liked it from the very start!
I would recommend this series.

So it's been seven years since I read this book/series. It's one that always stuck with me as a "favorite" and I had a pretty good memory of the book (especially book 1) from my one reading. I'm going back to some old favorites, going with the audio edition for my re-read, and sometimes it's nice to have a story I'm familiar with and don't need to concentrate on as much (for some of the situations where there are more distractions).
I still enjoyed this book and this series. I rated this 5 stars on my first read - four stars this go round. It was good, I think I was a bit distracted and didn't quite get pulled in as much, and was left pondering the unanswered questions (what happened to some people) and just felt a little unresolved. Still a series I'd recommend.
