I must say while I am not going to lord this as the greatest series ever written, Veronica Rossi you have a gift.

Everything in this book was done so well minus one thing. Which is just a small thing really, the lack of any real grieving of Liv. I get that there were other things going on but still!

Other than that though. I loved it. The action kept going until the very last chapter, I honestly did not think she was going to be able to resolve everything in the little time she had left. Characters were given development that was believable, their were deaths at just the right moments for them to really hit hard. Suzanne Collins take note on how to write a trilogy ending in a action packed, fun and interesting way. This to me was everything that Mockingjay was not.

I don't know why but I couldn't seem to LOVE this trilogy as much as everyone else does. But it had a good ending and the romance was adorable so yeah, 4 stars. Especially for Aria's character.

Spoilers below ***

In Into the Still Blue, we get the conclusion to a series that now I'm pretty sure I never finished. We picked up where we left off in the second book in the face to reach the Still Blue before the current world is destroyed. We take a crew of Perry, Aria, Roar, Soren, and Brooke to go and rescue Cinder from Sable and Hess. They succeed after being captured god knows how many times and retreat, only to be trapped again by Sable. I would say about seventy percent of this book is spent being captured. In the end, we get a happy ending and get to meet Aria's dad, which is a slightly positive note for this final book. Sadly, I feel like this book took several steps back from Through the Ever Night. The crew gets captured and recaptured an absurd amount of times, enough times to where I began to roll my eyes after a while. Not only that, but Roar went from this complex character to a character that was constantly attempting to beat people up in almost every scene. I actually felt like everyone's personalities disappeared, which is unfortunate. Overall, I'm glad that I finally finished this series and will miss Roar's character.

Then I love you, my little Night Crawler.

So as expected I loved this book! It took me so long to read it because of school and my internship, but finally I got some time to just grab it and read it. And thank the gods, because I loved marathoning the rest of this book. All the emotions, all the feels, all the plot twists. So much awesomeness.

One of my favorite thing about these books, besides Perry and Aria's relationship, was Aria and Roar. The friendship that was built between these two characters throughout this trilogy was perfect, magical, life goals for everyone. I loved how the communicated, how the relied on each other, how they protected one another. And then when they were together and Perry was too, perfection overload. I couldn't have asked for anything else.

Another thing I adored was the evolution of Soren's character. How we learnt to despise his character in the first book, during the first book we learnt to endure him, but on the third?! My goodness. I will admit I ended up falling in love with him. I loved how he ended up being part of the trio, a reliable friend, worth their trust and protection. And I loved the hints of a relationship between him and Laurel.

I have more things to share that I loved. I loved Loran and how he was introduced to us. How in the short time we had with him, his relationship with Aria evolved. And the thing he did in the end for Perry?! God, that made me love him so much more.

And the Still Blue?! Was everything we all hoped. The journey made my heart beat faster and my hands sweaty. And all the twists and turns made me believe my heart would fail me.

I won't even waste more time saying how much I love Perry because he's everything. And Aria was almost as awesome as he is. I love how different she is from the girl we met in the first book. And Roar. My baby, my heart, my tears.

Finally, the only thing I wished was a epilogue, with something like 10 years later.... But oh well. No book is perfection right?!

*Spoilers ahead*

I am on the fence about this book. I can't yet decide if I want to give it a 3.5 or 4 stars. I thought the series as a whole was really amazing. There was good world building, extremely interesting and likable characters, and a very solid plot. Aria is now definitely one of my top favorite YA heroines. She was never whiny or annoying, her love story with Perry was believable, and she really turned into a bad ass, kick ass young woman by the end of Into the Still Blue. I also loved Perry and Roar to death. I really only had two problems, one with the series as whole, and one with the last book. First of all, the whole Liv plot really kind of pissed me off. They talked about her a lot in the first and second book and then they don't even find her until the middle/endish of the second book where she has a few good pages/lines and then just dies. To me, she either shouldn't have been in the book at all, she shouldn't have died, or we should have gotten to know her more so her death would have mattered more (yes I know she and Roar have their own eBook, but still). I just felt that her death was so pointless, especially as it kind of ruined Roar for the last half of the second book and most of the final book. I also thought that the ending was WAY too abrupt. We hardly learned anything about the Still Blue which is something the characters had been talking about from day one. I really thought everything came together perfectly in the end, all loose ends were tied up, I just thought that it was a little anti-climactic compared to the excitement in the rest of the series. Overall this was a really solid series and I am glad to have finally read it!

2.5 stars

Seems I'll be the lone dissenter of the group.

This was a great conclusion to the series. The action was pretty much literally non-stop, and I could never guess what was going to happen next or how they were going to get themselves out of anything. Although I was really sad that
SpoilerCinder died. I didnt see that coming. Although I think its really awesome that they named their city after him. They couldnt have come up with a better name
. It was also great to see the dwellers finally mingling at the end, and something maybe happening between Soren and Brooke. I finally started to like Brooke a bit in [b:Brooke|17616704|Brooke (Under the Never Sky, #2.5)|Veronica Rossi|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1379876478s/17616704.jpg|24580176].

Over all an awesome series that I recommend to all YA fans. Especially post-apoc fans

-Rated a 4.5-

Warning: Spoilers Ahead

This was a really great ending to a really enjoyable and fun series to read. This series was action packed and fun and although not without faults, it's a bittersweet feel that I finished the last book today.

One thing that I really enjoyed about this series was the solidity of Perry's and Aria's relationship. Thier love for each other never wavered, no one else was involved (which the author has plenty of opportunities to create a messy, painful love triangle and I thank the heavens that she didn't) and it was something that was just so dependable and solid, right to the very end. There was never a second that I worried about them. And that made me enjoy the characters all the more.

As does with a series like this, there were many blowing deaths by the end of this book, and even though I understood the decision, I was still waiting for them to come back in the end. Liv and Cinder mostly. I was expecting Liv to come back, a plot twist that I thought would happen (in which I suppose it's a personal plot twist for me that it didn't) but Cinder I was fully expecting to survive. In fact, that was my first thought when I turned the last page was "wait- Cinder is ACTUALLY dead?!" That is the one thing I think I'm most upset about. Cinder, least of all deserved to die and when he finally got everything he really wanted, he had to sacrifice himself. It's so unfair on so many levels and from an authors point of view, I can understand why his death would hold more meaning.

I still hate it and I think if I were Veronica Rossi, I'd find a way to miraculously bring Cinder back BECAUSE I LOVE HIM SO DAMN MUCH.

The plots in this book were fast, action filled, angst filled and in the end, completely worth it. I love the beginning unity between the Dwellers and the Outsiders, and I think my favorite brewing romance was Soren and Brooke. Soren became a pleasant surprise, as in the past that dude seriously pissed me off. I really loved the new dynamic between he, Roar and Aria. It was hilarious.

Perry coming back and taking power was also one of the most wonderful and inspiring scenes in the whole book. It was smart, dramatic and I loved it. It filled me with such happiness when he went and took Sable down. It was awesome.

All in all, like I mentioned in the beginning, this was a great conclusion to a really enjoyable series. The time has flown by and I'm so glad that I stuck out this ride with these books. Bittersweet ending indeed.

If there is one thing to say about Veronica Rossi's Under the Never Sky series it's that she was created a wonderful cast of characters that are completely relatable and fun to hang out with while reading. I loved these characters from the beginning of the series to the very end. Roar, Perry, Aria, and yes, even Soren. I loved them all. I think most people who pick up this series will say the same thing.

At its core, this series is a story about family, loyalty, and perseverance. Rossi wove those themes throughout the whole series. What I appreciate the most about this series is that Rossi stayed true to the characters from start to finish. The characters didn't morph into someone else to appease the masses nor did they do stupid things for the sake of manufacturing conflict. She simply created them and let them tell the reader their story.

Into the Still Blue was a solid ending to a trilogy. Though, it didn't really take the reader to unexpected territory, which is fine. The story ended abruptly and I wish the author would have fleshed it out a little bit more. The story had been building to this crescendo for three books and when the characters finally got what they'd been working for, the reader was given only a few pages to catch their breath.

All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend this series to young adult dystopian lovers. The characterization is done well and the romance is sweet but not ridiculous. The first book in the series was my favorite. Enjoy!
