What a phenomenal ending to one of my absolute favorite series ever. Veronica Rossi has done something that so few authors have been able to do. She has created a series that was completely thrilling from beginning to end. There wasn't a single moment while reading these books that I wasn't completely engaged. There were so many times that I wanted to actually yell out loud because it was so exciting. Normally fight scenes are a little removed for me, but Veronica has a way of pulling me in, and making me love every minute.

There were so many things that happened in this book that I loved. Even the moments of heartache and fear. I loved how much she made me FEEL! Perry and Aria have a romance that stays exciting, and that is something that rarely happens in a trilogy. Even through their ups and downs, you could just feel how much they loved each other. My heart broke for them....though I can't tell you why, and I just ache for them.

One of my absolute favorite things about this series, is the friendships that are formed or strengthened. I adore the relationship between Aria and Roar. They love each other so much, and would do anything for each other. This is especially important now, while Roar is grieving the loss of Liv. It's fantastic how Rossi wrote this incredible, platonic relationship! Perry and Roar's relationship is tested, and it was so sad and sweet. While Perry holds his emotions in, Roar (as his name suggests, lets them all out with gusto. Watching them come to terms with the death of Liv, and their relationship with each other practically brought me to tears. Then there's Perry and Talon, his nephew. I adore the way that Perry loves him. Other surprising relationships are formed, and so many stories are expanded, it was all just so incredible.

As much as I loved it, there were parts that I was really sad about. I can't say I'm unhappy with them, because I can't expect everything to end perfectly, or the way I want it. Without suffering, and even death, it wouldn't be realistic at all, but it is still sad. The ending could have been a little more explosive, but that often happens with books that have so much build up. Even with the heartbreak, though, this book was everything I could have hoped for.

I can't wait until the rest of the world has read this book. I will be pushing this series on anyone and everyone that I can. (I love that I can do this with confidence, knowing that the series stays awesome the whole way through!!)

Veronica Rossi has made my AUTOMATIC BUY list. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!!

3.5 stars
I did enjoy this final installment in the trilogy quite a bit more than the second book. However book one remains my favorite.

3.5*s

This was an enjoyable series over all and it definatly kept me wanting to read more. I would recommend it to anyone who likes ya however I don't think I will reread it.

This book was PERFECT! It was an amazing last book in this series, it didn't leave anything out and I loved how everything came together!

Excellent ending book to the series. It is filled with action, difficult decisions and some unexpected plot twists. Now that Liv is dead, Roar is a mess and Aria and Perry work to help the dwellers to recover and survive as they hope to make it to the Still Blue. Many YA trilogies have disappointing endings, but this one does not. The author manages to keep the series going to the end. I enjoyed the book and highly recommend it.

A slower read than the first two, but a nice finish to the series.

Not sure if I've mentioned this before, but what I love about the way these books are written is how close Aria and Roar are. It's not just about Perry and Aria's relationship. It's about Aria and Roar, Roar and Perry, Cinder and Perry, Soren and Roar etc.

Parts of this book felt very rushed, and parts too slow. It didn't flow quite like books 1 and 2.

Spoilers

The ending was a little rushed. I don't know what didn't feel right, maybe the lack of description of how they entered the Still Blue? Maybe the uncertainty of Cinder at the end? Perry and Soren's battle was so swift. I would think a battle between Blood Lords would be more exciting and fulfilling.

I did love this series. I hope if it's made into a film it makes others love it too.

Oh, Into the Still Blue! Unlike some other final book in a trilogy coming out next week *cough* [b:Ignite Me|13188676|Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3)|Tahereh Mafi|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1375972497s/13188676.jpg|18369706] *cough*, I had faith that you wouldn't "pull an Allegiant", as I'm calling it these days. And you didn't disappoint!

Some spoilers for the first two books ahead!

ITSB starts up just a few days after the end of Through the Ever Night. Aether storms are destroying the entire landscape and survival is dependent on escape. But first, The Tides and The Dwellers must come together and find a way to get what they need for the crossing: The airships in the control of Hess and Sable, as well as Cinder, the only known person who can control the Aether.

Though they're not always used to their full potential, Veronica Rossi writes wonderful characters. I feel like Perry and Aria were actually the most static characters in this story, having already established themselves as leaders. This book was more about watching their influence trickle down the the others as they learn to accept change. It was actually Roar, on his manic, kamikaze emotional journey and Soren, transitioning between a worthless jackass and... still kind of a jackass, one with a heart and good intentions, who probably gave me the most feels throughout.

Also, who knew the villains in this series were so awesomely despicable? I didn't until this book! Yeah, they were pretty awful before then, but this book took the cake! Sable, in particular, was truly punch-in-the-face worthy. Every time he appeared, I got angry. THAT is what makes a good villain!
SpoilerAnd I love that Aria constantly thought about killing him toward the end, so he couldn't actually scent anything but that when she was around and thus couldn't really see it coming!
And Kirra? Whenever she showed up, something in the back of my mind went "BITCH, YOU JUST WAIT."

My only real character disappointment was Cinder. He's so unique AND he's my homeboy. But he's also a 13-year-old facing down his own mortality and it's barely touched upon. Without the inner turmoil really bubbling, it feels more like a plot device.

We spent a lot of time in one place through the beginning of the book and after that, things happen quickly. In various places throughout the book, there were some solid feels. But with a little more description, a little more buildup or a little more focus on THAT moment instead of rushing to the next one, they could have been what I will call ADVANCED FEELS. The kind that leave you shocked and devastated yet loving every minute of it and begging for the next detail.

The ending itself felt a little rushed and the big event, but I was happy with how it wrapped up. Sad to say goodbye to the series, but happy to see where it ended up!

SEPARATION ANXIETY

In my opinion, this is one of the best finales of a trilogy ever, if not the very best.
Everything about this book was just perfect - the plot, the characters, the atmosphere, the setting. I never thought it could be even better than the second installment because "Through the ever night" already had me emotional.
I literally could not put it down because it was just THAT gripping. I felt with the characters, I related to them, I felt like I was a part of the story.
I'm actually sad it's over now because I wouldn't mind reading more about the world created by Veronica Rossi!

Cinder me entristeció muchísimo!!
