I really, really enjoyed this. I love the characters and how they flirt. I love the dynamic. I really love the anxiety rep.
There were just some things that did zap away a 5star. The insta-love is too much for me.
I do hate that Hex and Iris act like he just had a misunderstanding with Loch. Totally not that Loch was stealing and lying and originally started flirting on his uncles orders. That is no where the same as Cole and Hex's situation.
I feel if the book was 40 pages longer it would have fixed a lot of the issues I had.

I absolutely adored this. Every part of it was perfect.
I know I said in the previous book's review that I loved the authors writing style and it was definitely still amazing in this one. I think I've found a new favorite author in Sara Raasch.
Now for the book. I loved the characters so much. I already loved Kris and Coal in the first book and it was so good to see them interacting again in this one. They're so funny and lovable. I also liked getting to see Coal and Hex interact as a couple.
But what I really loved was Kris and Loch. I'm a sucker for a good enemies to lovers arc and this one is sooooo good. Their chemistry was phenomenal and Kris was so clueless, it was adorable. Their dynamic was perfect for their characterization too.
And I LOVED Kris! His characterization was done so well and I really related to some of his struggles. His tendency to feel like he needed to be helpful in order to be important and his whole "spare Klaus" thing literally broke my heart. But I loved watching him work through all of that and start to believe in himself and believe that he is worthy despite what he can do for other people. It was done so well.
The plot itself was kind of light compared to the character stuff, but it was still there. And I liked it. I liked finding out how Coal was doing after the events of the first book and I liked watching Kris try to figure out who was stealing the joy. I do love a good character study though and that's really where this book shined.
